if not, you have to find other card

No doubt.. Maybank VI so far hv the best conversion rate for miles with 2x point every RM spend exclude utilities, insurance and education 1x point. U get 0 point for gov related transaction.

If you one of the HNW person then get Maybank Visa Diamante card...u can get 5x points with every RM spend though is just for invitation only.

u still need others to confirm when u have seen n handled your boss's Diamante card?

if able to put USD 1 mil in mbb just for the Diamante card....still want that extra few treat points meh....

well....like i said, the problems associated with redemption of miles into flights is relevant, as that will have a big influence in deciding which ffp you convert your points into...and i have almost a million points waiting to be converted, as i cannot decide which ffp to use....

jack, i have never redeem full with kf, only part redemption as i don't have that many miles in kf....i have trial check kf for mel and bne about 4-5 months ahead, but can never find a confirmed seat...always waitlist....i don't want to commit my points into kf and be stuck...on the other hand, enrich is pretty crappy at the moment...

I gather that if you call the CS, you will not be eligible for the 15% discount? In any case, 1 year booking in advance is crazy! 

I didn't know they can "hold" a booking...but i presume calling the call centre will mean no 15% discount?...

Thanks to members like bro GenX and bearbear for their tireless efforts in posting all things related to miles and points from a Malaysian perspective. Maybe I should stop being lazy and start posting, maybe focusing on redemption for large groups and families.

I used to think that way as well but the overall experience sometimes matters a lot and can make a huge difference in setting the tone of the entire trip. As flying becomes more and more accessible unfortunately also increases the chances of flying with passengers who bring 1000 carry on bags occupying all the overhead bin space, push and shove, rude, unhygienic, keep walking down the aisle to "stretch legs", clogged toilets... basic respect and awareness of other human beings are at an all time low. And that's just the in-flight experience.

On ground, not having to deal with people who love to 'shove' forward/lack basic respect of personal space (during check in, immigration if have priority lane) has value. Having your bags come out first has value. Being treated with basic respect from airport/immigration staff has value. Of course, having lounge access has incredible value too depending on how you fly.

I took such a trip recently (all less than 3 hour flight segments) and was surprised at how enjoyable and stress-free the whole experience was - very different from the stress I usually expect that dampens my mood. Give it a chance, it feels especially good when its an low mileage award/"free" (mine was 35k for the entire thing).

AA seats are bad...and anything longer than a couple of hrs is torture to my 6 foot frame....

Aax 330 seats are slightly better only....

Just did 8hrs BNE SIN on y and it was surprisingly comfortable....but it's a sunlight sq flight...

I think y long haul is still ok with the right airlines and aircrafts....

The 15% discount for redemption and redemption upgrade bookings made through our website and mobile channels will be discontinued, and the same redemption fare will be applied across all channels.


Fuel and insurance surcharges will be removed from all redemption award tickets on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir operated flights.

The above changes and the revised Award Chart will be effective for redemption and redemption upgrade bookings ticketed on/after 23 March 2017.
