All About Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo Wii is the 7th generation console released by Nintendo. It has considerably lesser graphical juice compared to XBOX 360 and the Sony PS3 but aims to capture the fun of gaming through the games and creative use of both its motion sensor controller - the WiiMote and Nunchuk.
Currently, there is 3 version of the consoles, NSTC/UC, NSTC/JP and PAL. The games are region locked so becareful which version you buy. There are rumours of an Asian release but no updates on that yet.
The SRP for the Wii in other countries are US$250, A$400 and 25000 Yen. In Malaysia, the price can range from RM1,700 to RM2,000.
The Wii is Wifi-enabled where you can shop via the WiiShop or connect to friends via WiiConnect24. It is also able to connect wirelessly with your Nintendo DS but at launch, this feature is still being worked on.

for those who want to set up their Wii on a projector, you should aware that the sensor bar only designed to works at no more that 6-8 feet.. so, you can try to create another sensor bar, like this guy over here http://www.aussie-nintendo.com/forum/viewt...8012461e5c77ec5This post has been edited by signither: Dec 12 2006, 09:08 AM

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 14 2006, 01:07 PM) Well, no worries if you broke your Sensor Bar, the " 2 candles as sensor bar " tricks makes the sensor bar a thing in the past. Any 2 light sources placed at the edges of the TV will act as a sensor for that matter. you can also use ur tv remote control.. or dvd player, vcr player, and the list goes on and on..

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 14 2006, 04:44 PM) Do you even know what im talking about? SEnsor bars can be replaced by placing two light sources at a distance between each other. The Wiimote then detects these and calibrates itself as the two light sources now acts as the edges of the TV screen. erk.. this is the diff things izit?? coz i saw a video where they used remote controls to replace the sensor bar and amazingly they can go farther with that.. here's the link: http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/7637QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 14 2006, 05:32 PM) Try making the entire Nintendo character Miis, or in my case, a very poor attempt at making an X-Men lookalike. there's a lot of my friends playing wii sports on my wii and they all creates their own Mii.. out of them all, 2 of the Miis looks almost the same as my friends This post has been edited by signither: Dec 14 2006, 04:38 PM

QUOTE(sihumchai @ Dec 18 2006, 11:59 AM) That's a tough question.. If you enjoy adventure games, then Zelda might be for you.. It's the puzzle elements(story, and design) that makes Zelda games enjoyable. If you're in for 50-70 hours of gameplay, yes get it. Rayman is party game to the max, I've heard alot of people saying that it's good. If you have friends, or family that you wanna enjoy the Wii with, why not? Oh yea, since you're Pal Wii, didn't you get Wii Play? so, zelda is for me to play by myself.. and rayman if i wanna enjoy my wii with my friends?? emmm.. tough decision.. i'm not a heavy gamer and i still haven't finish my red steel yet.. but i'm kinda enjoy playing wii sports with my friends.. yup, i already have wii play but it's not as good as wii sports..

i'm supposed to get nfs carbon as a free game with my pre-order but since TRU didn't get their copies on the mindnite launch, i haven't receive it till today.. i'm thinking of going to the TRU and try to make them change it to another game because i'm going back to Malaysia next week and i'll bring my passport n flight ticket for a prove.. so, if they allow it, which game should i choose?? i dun think they will let it be zelda coz zelda is already out of stock there.. if i'm not mistaken, when i was there yesterday, the only game that i think i really want is rayman..
so, should i change my nfs carbon with rayman?? or should i just wait for the nfs carbon?? which one better??

QUOTE(sihumchai @ Dec 19 2006, 10:05 AM) I could be wrong, but the controls are abit dodgy. I read IGN's review and it scares me. just got back from TRU.. they got their copies of nfs carbon this morning so my excuse to change to another game because i'm going back to Malaysia next week won't work anymore.. i also can't refund it for in-store credit because it's a free game.. so here i am, driving using my wiimote

QUOTE(sihumchai @ Dec 19 2006, 02:44 PM) Well, don't forget to give us your point of view of the game! wow.. just tried few races and all i can say is the controls are great.. just press '2' to accelerate and tilt your wiimote left n right for turning.. but i cant say this for the game as a whole coz i didn't try some race modes yet.. but my first impression was, "hey, it's not as dodgy as it seems"..
