What do I need to do if I want to stop playing gamecube game?just press eject,take out the disc and press reset?

Just read that the new wii firmware will not read freeloader disc.Has anyone who update their wii trying the action replay disc(gamecube)?Can the action replay disc be load?I still have not update my wii yet because afraid can not use the action replay code anymore.
