ok true story - when that happened to me one time in the recent past - i got - well happen to have another hdd that is of the same brand and model and then see that green ic board at the lower side of the hdd?

welll i took  screw driver and unscrewed that ic out and swapped it onto the hdd that - like yours - seem to not have power coming through
because i suspected it was a burnt board issue too this action of swapping worked!

i got ot powered on and quickly copied out all the important docs and stuff then said bye bye for the llast time and swapped the good ic back to my good hd and done

So basically your problem was just like mine?the motor doesnt spin at all?

i had had many different hdd problems before - just one of the cases reminded me of yours

just sharing that when i had this no power no spin no noise problem i could only think of swapping the ic

other times when i had the head stuck thing like in the video I too opened it up and parked the head manually like in the video

i even tried putting hdd into the freezer for a few hours till it freezes - this is a temp solution for hdd that cannot start up or read or got sound - you can search this and try too

other ways were the common quick KNOCK to dislodge the head

software methods i use which were 100% useful was with SPINRITE

so you have many things to try and stay away fr those data recovery sharks that will dare to quote you thousands of RM to 'recover' your hdd with conditions

ask around you will know what i mean

If you can confirm its due to lightning strike.
Then its your circuit board power connector thats burnt out. This can be fixed by changing the circuit board to a new one.
If you have a good nose, now would be the time to test it out.

best if it is the same, else you risk not being able to view the disk contents.
data code is just the year of the hdd btw.

Biggest reason for the drive electronics being of near the same date is ...
variability in date, actually means slightly different spin speeds (hard drives have a margin of error in rotation speed, it's not straight 3600, 5400, 7200, 10000).
Not good for readability ...
