Hi everyone, I suggest turning this thread into an A630/A640 owners' discussion thread, what do you think? (If A700 and A710 owners' can have theirs why can't we? )

I just got myself an A630 recently and have been very happy with it. The shallow DOF blur effect is easily achievable with the A630 and its sibling A640. Two major steps is to zoom in till maximum telephoto and use the largest apeture available (with these cameras it's f4.1 at max telephoto). The manual focus function is very useful in this situation but when I'm lazy I'll just use AF (it still works out nicely anyway). Here's a pic I took on a shallow DOF with my A630:

this my picture i took yesterday at home.. my focus is the middle wood but me also dunno why its like focus wood at the right side. anybody can help me? or need me go take more picture?

Were you using manual focus or auto focus? I think the wood in the middle is indeed in focus but it's blurred possibly because of camera shake. I suggest you take another similar photo under bright sunlight and zoom in to the max, and the results might come out clearer .

Btw, were you shooting over a closed window or something? There is this glare in the middle of the picture.

thanks guys finally i know how to play with the focus. thanks so much. but my new problem is.. if i took with the picture using potrait mode, im so hard to get the clear photo cus im shaking so my solution oni using TV mode thats is speed shooter mode using persecond time. but the problem using the TV mode the resault not batter den potrait mode? anyone can help me about this?
