I also noted that small [?] beside my post count. I think this should solve the problem of some newbies who might be wondering why isn't their post count increasing. And I believe the credit belongs to our board admin. bravo

QUOTE(hirari @ Dec 12 2006, 03:08 AM) From the thread given, I must say that an act of spamming from one person (in Movies & Music) does not imply that everyone (in Movies & Music) is spamming. Such rules given by administrators are for us to make good and thoughtful posts. Movies & Musics have fall into a category where people say 'good stuff!' or 'this movie/music sucks'. Then we can see some noobs up there who didn't realize about this thread at all. But, by having the postcounts uncounted for certain sections, this will lead to a stage where people wull do a lot more unconstructive posts. That's what from my observation especially at LYN. |

Its just like the previous time when we're debating about choosing a "trade enforcer"..... The arguement is that a "TE" would gives a more "safe / higher" status if he/she is a seller..which some ppl doesnt agree... It does makes a difference in your subconcious mind..... I, too sometimes posting a "one liner" but sometimes (actually most of the times) thats all i've got to say..... Unless like now which i can argue / debate about...... But im not doing it purposely of increasing postcount... Eg. Technical support section when ppl says infected with virus, i'd say download bla bla bla and post scan log....(i dont remember that section post counted or not) |

QUOTE(mcchin @ Dec 12 2006, 08:59 PM) my apology is I am being kacau-kacau Post counts do indeed show some level of seniority in the forum, but not for everything. Sometimes in the trade forum, people bring up the post count issue as a way of showing trust. But you cannot trust a person solely based on their post count. On the other side of the scale, when it comes to troubleshooting PC problems, a post count can show some seniority, but just like everything in life, must be balanced by common sense and a lot of thought.but since alot of seniors/mod/... (the elders) seem to think that post count is useless why not disable it for good...no.. that wont do... why not just dont show it up working in background... ps: some one enlighten me the use of the postcount? i am not being sarcastics here since i have join i have seen alot of ppl dissng the postcount use and none explain why it is still here... Alot of the time, when we take the post count into consideration, we also look at the quality of the posts made (via the Search function) or by long term exposure to the person in the forum. So that balances the issue by making the post count ONE of the factors, but not the ONLY factor. |
