probably the price is a factor... besides that, there is other brand that more famous among mass market. e.g. zalman and thermaltake.

Heh...
Let me tell you something about Hyper 6+

Below are some heatsinks i've used before:

CM Hyper 6+
Thermalright XP120
Gigabyte G-Power Pro
Scythe Ninja
Thermalright Ultra 120

And this is the performance:
CM Hyper 6+ lose to Gigabyte G-Power Pro
Gigabyte G-Power Pro Lose to Scythe Ninja
Scythe Ninja Lose to Thermalright XP120
Thermalright XP120 lose to Thermalright Ultra 120

Winner: Thermalright Ultra 120 rclxms.gif

Furthermore: the Hyper 6+ is damn noisy liao... shakehead.gif

Ultra 120 is hard to get right now, so better opt for it's on par performer such as:

Thermaltake Big Thyphoon VX [Yes, this is the only thermaltake product that have my respect laugh.gif ]
Scythe Infinity

Prescott is the core for various types of Intel processors...
Even Pentium D uses prescott cores...

Prescott Cores is used in Pentium D, Pentium 4 LGA775, Celeron D LGA775, Pentium 4 Socket 478, Celeron D Socket 478...

So, as long as it supports Pentium 4 Prescott Cores Socket 478, it will support you're Pentium 4 Socket 478 liao... laugh.gif

For you're information, Pentium 4 Socket 478 uses various cores, which is:

Williamette
Northwood
Prescott

hey sHawTY, you forgot to rank G-Power Pro in your list. where it stand? lost to which cpu cooler.

TS, TT Big Typhoon can support 478 but remember to get Big Typhoon and not those Big Typhoon VX. VX dont support 478.. btw, be prepare for a long and hard installation.. the main reason i avoid TT Big Typhoon in my consideration is because it looks hard to install that, need to remove the mainboard from the casing and so on. hassle hassle..

Don't worry about that...
Scythe has been known as one of the best HSF manufacturer @ producer...

I believe that the new scythe heatsink is good, at least it'll perform either a lil' bit better than XP120 or maybe on par with XP120... wink.gif

oh yeah... if prove to be not good, my money go down the drain again. just like my Zalman STG1 sad.gif but no deny, i was stunned and memorize by it when PowerSlide posted the picture. i love heatsink that blow downward and with its looks and heatpipe, should be can perform better than G-Power. of course the freedom to change any fan i like is a bonus.

if the heat of the hsf is outside, the noise will go up and btw, the casing is not 'seal' already. so airflow confirm got problem.

Thermalright Ultra-90 + 478 Retention Bracket = RM150 + RM25 doh.gif Link
Thermalright Ultra-90 + 478 Retention Bracket = $22.95 + $4.00 = $26.95 x 3.7 = RM99.72 (exclude shipping & postage) Link

Well, there is tones of comparison and review out there that proves otherwise. And there is always a better one in the CNPS9700..You will need some good prove and reason to justify your claim there.Besides, the Zalman is not one of the cheapest as well.Kinda pricy to be in the range of > RM200.But indeed, one of the good looking one for me..Too bad we cant get the AM2 version here.If not, i will have opted for that...

Ultra 120 is a lil better compared to HR-01 as the fins on the rear part is blowing directly to the motherboard, this results to a cooler parts on the motheboard...

Cooling the PWM, capacitors, and resistors on the motherboard...

While the HR-01 is blowing directly to the rear exhaust fans...

Either way, the choice is in you're hands... wink.gif

Edit: My bad, no, the fan didn't come with any fan retention to lock any fan on the heatsink, however, you can always use cable ties to lock a 120MM fan on the heatsink... wink.gif

So, my advice is, better go for Ultra 120, better, easier, and perform more...

You wouldn't have a problem fitting a 120mm fan on the heatsink, as it's already come with two metal fan retention to lock a 120MM fan on the heatsink... thumbup.gif

it is possible to fit 120mm fan on HR-01 without using cable tie but using fan wire clips
here read Q1 in the HR-01's FAQs ::Link::

so ur version of HR-01 didn't comes with the fan wire clip ::Link::

anyway, TR states that u can purchase the fan wire clips seperately, but they didn't include it in the accessories list hmm.gif u better ask them about it, i think it will help a lot for those who wanna get the hr-01 & ultra-120, cause they can mount 2x120mm fans (like Nocuta products - push & pull + hr duct mod making it the best air cooler out there) laugh.gif

you are so right men ... some more the use of the air duct is so not practical ... it almost bent my board in order to fit the duct to the exhaust fan ...

in the end i just tight a 12cm fan on the cooler which do better than running it passively...

where u read it??? so long didn't visit this thread... malas nak visit every thread & read laugh.gif

anyway, i don't think that's the main reason he changing it, maybe if he read my last post making him really wanna change it...

just imagine, using Ultra-120 + HR-01 Fan Duct Mod + 2x120mm fan (have to purchase another fan wire clips), it's like u using Noctua with HR's Fan Duct... hopefully someone will make it, i really wanna see how it performs than the "traditional" Ultra-120, hahahaha laugh.gif

damn, those fan ducts really helps in dissipating the heat a lot, it just u have to have the right case to use it cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif too bad my case can't exceed 90mm in height vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

you are so right men ... some more the use of the air duct is so not practical ... it almost bent my board in order to fit the duct to the exhaust fan ...

in the end i just tight a 12cm fan on the cooler which do better than running it passively...

that's why u need the right case for this heatsink biggrin.gif

The reason to get it exchange are:

1) Difficult to install the duct.
2) The push pin clip isn't that secure
3) Cannot install 12CM fan without the use of zip tie or metal string (looks not professional)

no other reason besides all this...

1) fan duct = can't do anything bout it to make it easier
2) Push Pin = can puchase the bolt thruogh kit from shawty bulk
3) Zip Tie = can purchase fan wire clips for that ::Link::

Sadly that's the case... that's why just grab Ultra-120 directly as it comes with bolt through kit directly..

buying separately would cost another RM25
