Welcome! I also Canon user.
If you have budget, you might consider 24mm pancake lens.
It is cheap and light for travelling, i like to carry both 24mm & 50mm.
Get original since price diff no much and Canon Malaysia have promotion.
If you live in Klang valley, you can try J-One at PJ Amcorp Mall.

Guys thank you for coming in and give opinion on this matter  rclxms.gif . After a lot of consideration, i think i want to stick to eos 100d. I know it is big, and not very friendly to my shoulder, but after serious thinking and surveying i found that 100d is the thing that i want. I did seriously look into mirrorless option like sony a5100 and a6000 even the eos M series, both are really attractive option and real delight to take with during vacation, but when i look into their lens lineup the price it is really cost prohibitive. And yes i do plan to buy lens, for now a kit lens and a 50mm is enough. A lot of people asking what i want to do with the camera, here is the list
1. Taking picture of my vacation in Turkey
2. Picture during my graduation day (portrait of friends and ceremony)
3. I love landscape and night sky photography(long exposure)
4. I don't do video (at least for now)
Q: Why 100d and not eos 1200d?
A:  i simply prefer slightly latest model and features  whistling.gif
Q: my plan?
A: buy a camera, and get 50mm lens at the same time
Q: why not mirrorless, it is small and easy to fit in pocket and bag?
A: as of now, the canon dslr lenses is cheaper compared to mirrorless one. I prefer not to use any adapter if i want to use cheap lens, later trouble with autofocus.
bro.. i'm from Olympus EPL3 > Panasonic GX1 > Canon 100D > Panasonic GX7 - all this happen within 2 years. My requirement is simple! travel, snap shots, it has to be fast - Basically it's everything about capturing the moment and it has to be quick and sharp!

Let me tell you why i'm back to m4/3 and not sony A6000 or full frame DSLR.
1) it's x2 crop factor to a full frame. so a 14mm will be 28mm. a 25mm will be 50mm. You won't get exactly a 50mm on a APSC. slapping the nifty fifty on your 100D is not what you want trust me. i was using 40mm STM and 24 STM previously that also they were not the idle frames.
2) it's bulky despite 100D is the smallest DSLR and even with 2 pancake lens.. compared to GX1 with 20mm f1.7 and 14mm f2.5
3) DSLR because of it's mirror, snapping a shot through it's lcd screen is somewhat slower than a mirrorless. You need to always look into the viewfinder if you want it to be quick and fast. test them out on a panasonic/olympus m4/3 system and you will know what i mean when compared to a DSLR like 100D. This is very very important when you travel so shots you just want to immediately look at the screen and snap on it!
4) m4/3 system matured alot and it's lens are not really that expensive compared to DSLR.. for DSLR other than the nifty fifty the rest pretty much cost you a bomb. A 2nd hand 14mm f2.5 selling in the forum will go for approx rm350 - good lens for wide angle. a 20mm f1.7 will cost you approx rm700 2nd hand, rm1.1k for a brand new. a 25mm f1.8 will cost you approx rm1.25k brand new - have not seen anyone selling their 25mm yet though.
5) the body.. oh my it's so much cheaper compared to a DSLR! look for deals in lazada.. an EPL5 is selling for rm750 only with kit at the moment. previously i bought my GX1 with 14mm f2.5 lens + kit lens for only rm999. it's really affordable when it comes to the combination of lens + camera body.

P.S: image quality? don't worry about it.. it's proven to be good. more for you to consider. brows.gif
