Didn't lose money is good enough.

How about 2015 return?

Bet you average down right?

2015: 29.67% total return rclxms.gif

No say average up or down, just continue buying when I see value, take some profit off if believe that the run up is too fast

Maybe I'm too heavy on fixed income at 61%. 9% in RHB Islamic bond, 8.5% in RHB EM bond, 8.5% in RHB ATR, 30% in CMF and the rest in various bond funds for switching purpose. Follow FSM advice, cut back on equity allocation.

I think this is going to be brutal year. The priority here is capital preservation. Forget about making double digit return.

I consider it a bonus if I can get single digit return using FD as the benchmark.
*
Then...why not sell all now and park in FD? whistling.gif

All those institutional funds are propping up the market artificially

EPF, ASN and all those bla bla bla...with their endless monies...are supporting the market, supporting weak companies...

It's not healthy. A healthy economy should be competitive, weak ones should be allowed to die.

while CMF return now is quite high at 3.9%, it is way better than normal board rate. but for some conservative ones, locking in with FD which the interest is guaranteed than is more favourable.

i like to point out also that CMF isn't always this high. it does vary, but based on my own experience thus far, i think on average should be around 3.6% or 3.7% for the past year which is still not bad.
*
CMF always tracks average of FD (board and promotional ) rates

Btw, someone on i3investor have same avatar as u...or are u then same person? hmm.gif

i remember you mention this before.

but it's just that lately even tom, dick, harry retail customer like me can get 4.5% which in comparison to currently almost 4% CMF, still lose out a bit. of course, the convenience of CMF is a big win... still looking for opportunities to top up... in small amounts.

btw, while i do use i3, i don't post anything. don't recall having an avatar...
*
Yeah, CMF is like a high yield account but with 2 working days withdrawal notice. nod.gif

No need to worry one. EPF is like a giant Ponzi scheme. There are always new employees that will contribute and lock down for about 35 years before can take out. 35 years later, there are always new employees contributing enabling you to take out your money  whistling.gif
