Hi. Im working at very rural area where network signal is poor. Maxis and Celcom so far can make calls at certain position, but often poor line quality. Internet wise, can get G or E if go higher ground.

To approach the network provider may not be fruitful, as the users probably not many to compensate the cost of erecting a tower in that area.

But is it possible to set up a private tower/roof top antenna that would improve the network connectivity? any company that provides this sort of service? or, to approach maxis/celcom itself?

please share any info. thank you.

Actually all the telcos contribute into a fund that's managed by SKMM that's supposed to pay for the towers in remote locations.

Suggest you bring this up to the telcos, and if they give you the runaround then escalate to the CFM

Hi, thank you. But I need to point out, that is not a tower. Its just a pole. I do have that gsm antenna shown in the link, and its not doing good enough. It boosts the signal, but quality is still poor.

I'm not looking at household solutions. I'm talking about actual tower we see along the roads, except i do not really need a tall one.

See the attachment. That is my working area, surrounding is jungle. I placed the booster high above the roof, no use. I'm planning to put something stronger at where I was standing. Its a small hill, and signal reception is good up here.

It's possible to pull the antenna couple of meter away even a hundred or two but you might need signal booster in between which require power supply and this can be painful to deal

Hmm I'd just file a network complaint first via their customer care portal..

at the small hill: maybe u juz need get a higher watt signal repeater + weather shield casing (to protect the repeater) + a high gain parabolic outdoor antenna either gsm or other frequencies to get far enough signal.

then may buy splitter to carry several coaxial cable connecting to broadcasting omni antenna or patch antenna.

then it juz like quite similiarly to a 'base station', hehe. one pillar hold parabolic antenna + repeater + splitter + several broadcasting omni/patch antenna.

if got budget, can help try source all these gadgets.

Sounds interesting. But this is sort of DIY rite, sure working or not? Later I'll get screwed by boss. Prefer if a company provide the solution, installation and support.

DIY cost effective

if for company use, then source your local provider there, of course the cost no cheap when it come to "company type quotation"

you may consider mini cell as well, or... satellite phone...
