Hi bros.

I have a MSI PE60 6QE laptop and have been experiencing some problem since I bought it. While sitting idle, the CPU usage is below 5%but around 30% of my RAM is being used. And also, when I run FIFA 16 at low setting, it seems to be spiking.

Specs:
6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2 GB GDDR5
8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD

What could be the problem with my laptop? Thank you.

Why not refer back your seller ? Ask them check for u perhaps ?

Have you do a quick check in Task Manager to see which programs consume most of the ram usage?

I think is ur power input got issue... check ur power supply..

better get back to shop u buying...it seem like fan prob cannot cool down the system

Actually I don't see an issue with sitting idle. Skylake is a very efficient processor so if the laptop is not doing anything the CPU will drop to as low a clock as possible, etc.

30% RAM usage for 8GB may seem shocking but actually Windows 10 appears to try to use as much RAM as possible. It will then swap out that RAM to what applications it deems needs the most RAM.

Can you explain what "spiking" means when running FIFA? That could be a thermal throttling thing because AFAIK PE60 is quite a thin laptop.

Download HWMonitor and have a look at clock speeds and temps at idle and when playing. Don't worry too much about the RAM for the time being.

did you plug in the power cable? nowadays almost all the laptop must need to plug in power cable only can go for maximum performance, if no plug in power cable will auto reduce performance

i think you can check with your reseller, if got any issue, reseller will help u to send to service center for fixing.

Although I set my laptop at power saving mode, it will automatically go to high performance mode after few minutes although I used it without plugging in the power source...lol
