How about the MBA in local universities like UM, I believe they are quite established as well and have part-time flexibility.
Business MBA, Where's best to study MBA in Malaysia?

QUOTE(Singleon @ Jun 7 2011, 06:59 PM) I'm currently working and i would like to enroll myself in MBA programme (part time). If you think that you want to take up managerial role in the future, the researches of qualification leading to that career should be considered a vital preparation. What would you think if you find out your current manager/boss's MBA is taken based on advice of strangers on a Malaysian board?I'm unsure which University offers me the best 'training' and 'preparation' for my MBA. Any recommendation guys/girls? Thank you and much appreciated for your advise. |

The most important thing I think about an MBA education is about networking - the classmates of your MBA class. That being said, the more prestigious the institution, the easier they attract links that you are more interested in, and doing it locally will definitely help if one intends to do business locally.
TS, may I suggest you to include Nottingham in your radar, probably cost lesser than 100k but probably over your 40k budget as well. Take a look at it. |

QUOTE(cskit161 @ Dec 21 2012, 10:24 PM) AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB accredition are private accredition bodies. Heroit Watt has a Royal Charter accredition since 1966. So you might ask what is the difference between Royal Charter accredition and a private one. A royal charter accredition is only given when you meet the UK statutory education standards and it is through this accredition that other universities from other countries will recognise the course you have taken for credit transfers. Heroit Watt will never get the AMBA accredition because in order to get this accredition you must have at least one face to face session with the student. Herroit Watt MBA program is runned by faculty members from Stanford university, London Business School and other reputable universities. Before anyone criticise the program please do a research on the content of the course program and the professors attached to each subject matter. In the US there is no government agency that credits a university. A university is dependent on private accredited body i.e. AACSB. So an AACSB is essential for quality control. Who cares about Royal Charter? Most universities that people know of have it - that's like the 'license' to run a university in UK. I know peanuts about MBA, but I believe professional accreditation is still what makes the difference. The univeristy of Liverpool recently obtained it's AACSB accredition because it has face to face sessions with it's students. The program is entirely online with no examination and the estimated cost is around RM65,000 to 70,000. Herroit Watt is much cheaper if you do the distance learning program. It will cost you around RM36,000. Payment is by module. You can check out it's website. I believe it the best option for working people who have no time to go for classes. The exams are 3 hours with 2 major diets in (June and Dec) and two minor diets in between. An MBA program does not guarantee you success however given that everybody has one nowadays it is best to be equipped with one rather than be sideline by the Joe sitting next to you during a promotion. |
