Wow...42 pages and I went through all of it.

Just to share, I'm planning to take my MBA in 2009. After some detailed research and in line with my personal goals, I should be off to UK next year assuming I clear my GMAT. I would have gone this year if not for GMAT sad.gif

For those who are looking towards an MBA overseas, most American MBAs typically take 2 years. Some Aussie MBAs are 2 years as well, especially the top tier ones like AGSM and MBS. While most UK MBAs are typically between 12-15 months. In some cases, doing an MBA in UK could be cheaper than doing it in Aussie or US despite the exchange rate when you factor in the duration of the MBA.

Say, for instance, I use AGSM/MBS as an example: Tuition fee is approximately AUD50k per year and the whole course takes 2 years. When you factor in the cost of living, accommodation etc then the cost becomes astronomical.

But if you were to go for certain UK MBAs which takes 12 months, say one which costs 25k pounds in tuition fees. Add in the cost of living, accommodation etc, it's still cheaper than the Aussie option.

In any case, has anyone heard of Lancaster's MBA? In FT's 2008 rankings, they are ranked in the Top 30 of the Top 100 MBAs in the world, on par with Manchester and better than Warwick. I've asked around and while almost everyone I've spoken to have heard of Warwick, I can't say the same about Lancaster.

Strange indeed...

That's Top 30 in the world, not just in UK alone. That list is dominated mostly by American Universities. Once filtered out, both the Uni I am eyeing is in the Top 10 in UK itself.

Hi mavric, just to correct a misconception. The fees for AGSM / MBS is about AUD 50k for the whole course duration of 16 - 20 months, not per year. That being said, I think Judge @ Cambridge offers very good ROI, and low fees too. Some MBAs from UK have really cheap fees - Warwick, Cranfield, Henley@Reading and respectable rankings. Point to note is that most rankings are either US or Euro/UK centric, the most unbiased is prob the QS and the EIU rankings. Do bear in mind that the cost of living in UK is much higher compared to AUS. And AGSM / MBS are ranked higher than all the UK unis except LBS & Judge @ Cambridge and in some ratings Warwick.

What did you score for your GMAT btw? We should have formed a study group. I didn't do too well too, aiming above 700, only got a 650. Hahah c'est la vie!

Hhmm..I've always thought AGSM/MBS cost AUD50k per year. May I know which source you referred to which indicated AGSM/MBS is ranked higher than Warwick etc? I intend to retake my GMAT. Sigh. How about you>?
