Hello,

I just graduated from Curtin University, Perth with a pharmacy degree and I am interested in doing a MBA course as well in Malaysia. I am working as a Pharmacist intern in Australia at the moment but will come back to Malaysia for good soon due to limited job opportunities/immigration issues.

Which colleges/uni offers a full time or part time MBA course (Preferably full time) ? And also the certificate must be from an overseas University (Be it UK or AUS or US, thats fine with me).

Thank you for replying this post !!!!! Your help is much appreciated

yes, it will cost you a bigggg bomb. Hahahah

I heard somewhere it is around 80k. Hahhahaa.

Aiya....just do it locally la...like Universiti Malaya.

Standard not bad u know.
Eg. I know the MBA in USM is wayyyyy much more difficult compared to other foreign MBAs in Penang. Like the MBA in Segi Penang is kacang putih. So, all those who wants an easy journey will go to Segi lo. Coz it's so simple.

I can tell you that you will be pretty surprised that the standards of our local Unis are sometimes better compared to some foreign Unis. It's just that our ranking are lower oni. This is due to lack of publications by our local researchers and also the standard of our undergraduate students. Mainly these two issues contributed to our low ranking. But then it doesn't mean that the MBA is bad.

U have got a good point there bro. But potential employers would sort of prefer applicants with Certs from overseas. ALthough, I fully understand this is not the main criteria to seek future employees. Its more than that.

Bro, Ask u ah. Does entry into MBA schools in Malaysian Uni requires at least 2 years of working experience ? I plan to do it next year, but I'll only have one year full-time experience altho I have been working in the pharmacy part time for the past 3 years. I wonder if they will consider as a case-to-case basis ?

dont waste your $$$, go seek employment first... do your mba overseas if you really want to do it

My pharmacy degree is shitty. Its not good enough to secure me a job in a pharmaceutical company. ( That is where I wanna be ). I HATE HOSPITALS & Health care. ( I know I did the wrong degree, but I have to finish it ) Therefore, a MBA qualification would really help me and to take me far away from health care

Hello, I lost track of this thread 2 years ago after moving to SG from Australia. Planning to take on MBA in Malaysia due to cheaper cost and also I have accommodation and car in KL. Was thinking of doing full time in Nottingham initially but it seemed like Lancaster MBA and the Strathclyde MBA are the more recommended ones here. Any advice regarding this ?

I plan to do it in Malaysia. So traveling shouldnt be a problem. I'm actually a pharmacist in both Australia and Singapore and I can get a pharmacy license in Malaysia and work too if I want to. Pretty much have accomodation and transport settled anyways, just looking for a school to study. Wonder how much would a MBA course in Lancaster cost me ?

Are you going to be travelling back and forth from Australia to Malaysia during the course? Lancaster and Strathclyde MBA in Malaysia are both part time.

There are exams and workshops quite often with the Lancaster MBA, so you need to check if it suits you.

I have left Australia for good, currently working in Singapore. I'm Malaysian btw =)

You have plans to return to work and leave Singapore?
MBA is more about networking, otherwise you can do online MBA with Warwick don't have to travel.

I plan to work part-time as a Pharmacist in Malaysia and study MBA. Will be probably going back to Singapore after my MBA but will also strongly consider working in Malaysia as well.

I see, is the job market bad in Australia now?

Lancaster's fee is around RM73k now if i remember correctly.

Pharmacist jobs are lacking in Australia at the moment. I came back because of PR issues and also Singapore is closer to home in Malaysia =)
