Financial Times, Forbe and Economist publish mba ranking annually. These are good source to rate the course.

But again these are just review ranking; you will also need to consider what suit u best and their local program provider unless u are doing it directly in the choosen university.

Very informative thread but too long to read some of the dispute. Here's my dilemma so hopefully someone with experience can advise.

I am in my late 30s, holding a mid level managerial role. I am planning to do MBA, preferably one with accredition and support from EPF Account 2 withdrawals.

I am thinking to do MBA to help boost my career, I think it would. Why? Because I feel to move up in upper management, Degree may not be enough, especially one with average result.

I plan to do MBA part time as I am working with family commitments. I am currently looking at HELP MBA Online course, but need some comments. Other options for online distance learning works for me too as long as accredited minimally locally.

Appreciate some feedback. Thank you.

choose the best MBA offered. you only gonna do 1 MBA in your life.

MBA boost your career by making you more knowledgeable and see thing from all perspective.
Thus you in hope you can manage better; and the paper cert is kind of proof you have done the study.
But end of the day, it is still depend on your commitment to career, to your boss, and company you work with...

The Top 3 MBA programmes in Malaysia currently are:

1) Asia School of Business in partnership with MIT Sloan Business School and Bank Negara Malaysia
2) Sunway Lancaster MBA
3) Strathclyde MBA

I wouldn't bother to do any other MBA's in Malaysia.

Yup, but MIT is not cheap, but if you financially ok, why not...

=)

Anyone from Lancaster?

so every 6-7 weeks theres classes on Thurs-Sun?

I believe Strathclyde is every 2 weeks Sat - Sun full day, which does seem alot more taxing.
*
Is the taxing part u will learn...
U wont gain much knowledge if is smooth sail...

In any reputable MBA course, the real challenge is not the classes itself but the assignments.
*
Is the assigment AND the exam...
All reputable MBA hv exams...

i'm asking as would like to have someone to verify this.
Considerations like these have to be taken into account for a job that travels around alot.

Strathclyde is normally 2x to 3x weekend per subject per semester.
You can adjust the number of subjects per sems.

Coventry University is ranked 15 in UK for the year 2017:

sorry maybe I used the wrong term "widely recognized". I withdrew what I just said.

Actually this is university rank, if you check for engineering, art or medical etc, the list is valid.

Norm for business school ala MBA, they use other ranking list as some business school dont cover general education course.
Example INSEAD, SMU and Kellogg are a pure business school.

These are main golden 3 rank:-

Hi guys, I'm surprise there's an ongoing MBA thread there.

I've been in the workforce for 10years now and thinking to advance myself so I was thinking of getting MBA courses or PMI.

Unfortunately, PMI required to have experience in Managing to get that so looks like MBA was one of the better choices for me.

But I have doubts. I do not know what to find and which to choose. There's so many college offer such course and I do not want to make a wrong choice which will wasted my time.

Is there any standardization for these courses? International standards like kind of ACCA like we use to hear for accountings. Obviously, I do not want some college just make everything easy and give u a certificate which is worthless. What should I looks at?

Recently I saw one college called Wawasan offering RM24K for MBA. I like the timing as it's one day class per month for 2 years.

What do you think? Need some advise.

To be honest, not so sure why everyone is so obsess with it. IMHO, we should look at the quality of the course in terms of delivery and the experience surround it.
*
Both are important.

Accreditation is a way that tell the public that the course had met a certain requirement that been set by external bodies. The local delivery and learning experience will be another factor that a candidate should consider.

It may change time to time due to uni arrangement or local college needs.

It would best for you to communicate with any local associate/college directly.

It your own education anyway..
