@wingcross,
27 hrs of class contact is supposedly little or too much? In my opinion, it's also important to know whether u are able to commit that kind of time for the duration of the course. Most people like to have a lot of class contact hours but it's really not too realistic, in my opinion - at least for those with jobs like mine *gulps*

Anyhow, Nottingham Uni's a good pick too. Good Luck and have fun smile.gif

@Melon,
Yes.. to each his own - I've heard of people commenting about the 'reduced' class contact during the previews and requested for more class contact and in the end, it was the same people who were absent most of the time cause of other commitments.

I too would prefer one-off sessions to save time and for it to be convenient but the downside is the lack of concentration due to such looOoong hours.. but nothing's perfect right? smile.gif

@Melon,
I *think* it would have been the Sunway staff - if i'm not mistaken, they probably earn more if a student enrolled under their VUT program. It's ridiculous when someone tells u the MBS & VUT program is the *same*

Am sure your Dr Benson's gonna be upset if u tell him what U heard *grins*

@xphossis,
Academic qualifications is not the only gauge when it comes to salary. Basically, the more income u can generate for ur organisation, the more u should be able to get.

@alsree786,
The component which is lacking for distance learning is the peer sharing part which is supposedly to be essential for an MBA. However, with technology, sharing can still be done via video conferencing smile.gif

Also, just to keep all informed, I read about an upcoming postgraduate fair:-

Post Graduate Education Fair 2008
4-6 April 2008
Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, KL

It's taking place simultaneously together with (1) Malaysia Career & Training Fair 2008 as well as (2) Entrepreneurship Expo 2008.

Get onto www.lifelonglearning.com.my for more information smile.gif

@alsree786,
If it's distance learning conducted via a local institution here it's different cause u probably can find peers and do group study or discussion. If ur doing online / distance learning on ur own, it's another thing altogether.

I don't think the programme ur talking about is full distance learning. It's got local facilitators to facilitate the program right?

Also, don't judge a book by its cover *smiles*

@alsree786,
The only one I know who's pursuing the MBS MBA is Melon - U perhaps should PM her if U want more information

@tishaban,
It's taking a while for me to figure out what IE stands for? tongue.gif I think AGSM's a good choice; I would have taken it if not for some personal reasons and as an Australian PR, fees were v much lower then blush.gif

@tishaban,
Go! I could alwiz come visit U [wait.. that would mean no more USA trips!!] and well at least I have someone in UK just in case I need to get shopping done smile.gif

I don't know about AGSM fees now but when I checked [that was like 6-7 years ago], Australian citizens & PRs didn't have to pay tuition fees; just minimal admin charges. Or was that for a different post graduate program? I remembered looking into it except I didn't put the application in as I didn't qualify due to insufficient work experience then sad.gif

@tishaban,
hMm... "strategic need" huh?! I should think I too have a strategic need to be in the US too! Oh then again, I could always leave it to the man to bring in the dough huh? tongue.gif

Anyhow, since U mentioned gaining scholarship from ur current employer, isn't it possible to do a US-based MBA, come back and finish the 2 year bond then strategically place urself back in the US?

@chgchksg128,
I suppose there'll be on and off checks as well as spot checks from the principle to keep the local partners here on their toes. I don't see any other way quality can be guaranteed; not even if they brought in foreign lecturers because administration is important too.

U could possibly check out University of Strathclyde. It's conducted through CDC Management Institute, Malaysia

@tishaban,
Yes I agree with U. Y spend $ on an MBA when it's not going to give u the returns, or well, when the returns are onli gonna come back when U retire *grins*

@gooni3,
The more the merrier!

<psst: tishaban, haf U checked if gooni3's eligible?> laugh.gif

@chgchksg128,
I'm quite surprised no one's responding to their emails but when it comes to something like that, U should perhaps pick up the phone and call smile.gif At least U got some other forumer to do it and he was kind enough to provide u with the details smile.gif

The one and only time I called, a v rude lady picked up the phone. Before she would answer any of my question, she made it a point to make sure I didn't find the course fees too much [it was about RM43k then] - hate that kinda attitude! tongue.gif

Anyhow they 'verbally' rejected my application as I was too young then

@chgchksg128,
Roaster University? What's that?! I can barely comprehend U.

U perhaps could list down the different programs and their course fees here and we'll help U see which is 'best value' though that's seriously not an easy thing to gauge.

@gooni3,
I don't understand where Ur coming from. I'm not interested in going to UK to work - I gave up the opportunity for Australian PR. Life is in currently in MY and so is the bulk of the family. I might consider US though for 'strategic reasons' tongue.gif

Also, I'm not looking for an MBA, perhaps a DBA.
