Hi, i just played wow for 2 days, i am playing at Dath Remar PVE server becos i scare i kena pvp until bored.. I dunno how to distribute my talents and wat skill should i get. Other than that, is it faster to lvl by doing those quest than grinding? I got 2 frens playing, 1 warlock and 1 mage also having the same problem. We are newbie..

I presume your a warrior so it's really up to you. Warrior has Arm/Fury/Prot in their talent tree, choose one as your main focus.
Arms is good for good consistent damage and the Mortal Strike is good too. Fury allows you to generate rage at a very fast pace e.g. 50 rage in less than 1 sec. Prot is only good for PvE instances if you're a tanker for your guild.
As for your mage friend, it's kinda hard to balance his talent tree as you're playing on a PvP server. For now, I suggest him to be a frost/arc mage. If he wants to PvP at max level, then respec to Fire/Arc.
Just a tip is stay at friendly territory until you reach say level 30+ or else you'll get ganked and corpse camp.

Go read the wow forum for more tips. www.gamefaqs.com is a good help Try talking to the player there politely. They will help you. I cant help much in warrior. But as for mage i can. It is well known that Fire mage has high damage. Soem argue that fire mage is the best for leveling. Personally i am partial to Ice/arcane As there is more snare and uses less mana then fire spell. Below is an example of an Ice/ Arcane mage. Arcane Iceor Arcane FireSince there are new skill available now, more options will be available in the future soon. Those 2 above are some of the example of what i think is not bad/

If you have the skill, you can learn more on the talent tree. For example. Fireball can be learned from trainer. But you can't use Improved fireball in the first place if you dont have fireball learned
Some skill such as pyroblast can only be learn from talent tree. After learning it, you an go to the trainer to learn an improved version of it. aka level 1 and above.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Dec 10 2006, 04:47 PM) which is better for warrior? 2h axe or main hand? Shield useful? If i wanted to become a good warrior in dishing out damage while still can do tanking, which build should i go? I wanted to do well raid and pvp too... go fury if u wanna do dmg and tank cuz fury helps u generate rage very easy and rage is the main thing in tanking...while for pvp with fury is good to dishout good dmg base on ur AP(attack power). also with fury is prefer u go DW(dual wield) arms spec is good for tis patch but still is good for those end game sword like asscandy...u could try arm mace spec is good to stun ppl with TUF This post has been edited by intothefantasy: Dec 11 2006, 08:07 PM

but i saw most of them do 45/3/5 build for BC... how is it? Now i need a build that is good for lvling with party... For tanking, sword+shield or mace+shield or axe+shield is better for a dwarf warrior? Now currently lvl16. I hope when higher lvl i can do a good role in raid. I asking those newbie question becos i am very new to wow and i found out the official forum is just way too much for me to understand. So i hope you guys can give me some guides on this game. Thanks!

I think mess around with the talents is best, you will find what you want later. As of spec, I can tell you about Warriors and Priests. Warriors for now since its what you wanted.
Arms - Basically this is gonna be the place you wanna be at before you reach 60, or at least for your level. Get the strongest 2 hander weapon you can get, by highest I dont mean DPS, I mean low end and especially high end damage.
Fury - I think, you shouldnt invest heavily into this until you got yourself some really nice gears, epics mainly. A rough guide would be having 1000AP unbuffed before you consider this tree. 2H Fury is nice but I think duel wield (DW) would be better. And since DW is gonna tottaly blow if you dont have decent gears, I suggest you go Arms.
Protection - Only go into this part if you are the main tank or offtank for your guild. But seing at your level, only reason you wanna come here is because you like tanking. Else, dont bother cuz its really slow.
As a warrior, aim for the 31 talent point skill. I dont believe its possible to play properly without any one of those. Also, I cant say much for DPS warrior, cuz I was protection since level 1. Quite confident at my aggro holding ability so if you want more about this I can share with you. But I suck tottaly at DPSing as a warrior cuz I basically never went into Arms Fury at all hahaha.

i went to arms before seriusly i can tank in 5men lbrs but my problem is rage generation...well if u decided to go arms and from ur calculator u made it seems to be no problem but in the arm part u wana use it for dps or pvp? if pvp i dont prefer iron will as i prefer u go for imp thunderclap cuz is good for helping u tank and maintaining aggro
also u could put some point into ur 2hand weapon specialization..make it 5...and also parry i dun feel is good to go full parry cuz as rage is a problem now i prefer u invest 2 point on imp heroic if u gonna use it always and 3 points in parry or u could give up the whole iron will thing and invest 1 more point to parry.
heck i got even a fren told me he never use heroic in pvp before...i was like...wtf?

wat is oeb? Does is mean that if i am a dwarf, i must use axe? My ingame name is Threeinch, currently doing the defias quest at moonbrook.
I just saw oeb, it is for lvl60 rite? I am just lvl 17 le... is there any better sword out there for my lvl? Or axe or mace.. i am confused, dunno which type of weapon to use..

If you are arms, just get any that has the highest top end damage I guess. Doesnt matter what type of weapon it is until you spec into one of the weapon specialties. Take note of your weapon skill, if its low, dont expect your weapon to be doing much for sometime.
Theres a huge differense between HS and MS. HS is used upon next swing, which means it eats up your normal swing, and since you dint hit with a white damage you dont get rage at all. MS on the other hand is an instant attack. Meaning that when you hit that button, it will come out instantly, and still your white damage is going to hit when the weapon swing timer reaches. But that doesnt mean that HS is entirely useless. First, its a crucial skill for tanking, secondly it requires much less rage. 30 rage isnt easy to come by most of the time when you need it.
This is to the more experienced player. I think theres no normalization for HS am I right? If that is true, given a proper weapon, your HS CAN outdamage your MS. Since I'm no DPS warrior, I wanna ask others.

hmm....i use oeb before and my hs and ms crit were the same even with imp ms...1k+ for both i also duno y both of them are the same and yes hs is very important in tanking...it generates threat to
if u are lvling simple take a high end dmg and try to find some weapon with 3.00 - 3.40 speed if can
i DW since lvl 20 till now i seldom use 2handed until i get oeb i respec for awhile then i get dw back since i hit hwl.
as for ur lvl 17 i am not sur which weapon is better for u cuz when i am tat lvl i always been 1hand and a shield till 20 i went full DW even i tank with dw in old time instance
so basicaly u could just 1st aim 1 type of weapon that u wanna use till 60 like 2hand sword, mace, axe cuz u duwan to always change other types of weapon and need to train the weapon skill again.
if u aim for sword then always go for sword till u are lvl 60 then only u grind other weapon skill. low lvl pick weapon is kinda easy tho...just always compare which is better thats all lol. but if u could go DW i suggest the best weapon is sword of omen and vanguisher sword i use it till lvl 50 lol and changed to 2x axe of renji

Play around with your talents and see what suits your style of play more. For lvl 1-60, its more about what you like to play. From 60 onwards, it starts to get a little boring, like what your raid needs you to be. Just understand that a little but of everything is not good. You should have at least one three with more than 25 talent points.
