it still has 20 days of free interest period, even though i use to pay my ptptn loan?

What i want to know is, if i use for non-retail transaction, it will not charge me interest as long as i pay within 20 days after the statement date?
*
20 days of free interest period applies to WHOLE statement amount, not just particular transaction.

it doesnt matter what/where you swipe.

make it simpler: ALWAYS pay your STATEMENT BALANCE on/before Payment Due Date.

why dont you check your remaining credit limit? if system already captured your payment, then your credit limit will be increased back.

use cimb cash rebate to buy a rm75 thing from groupon, end up posted rm75.60 .... is this kind of cross border charges or what? I thought groupon is Malaysia already...
*
very likely, cuz 0.8% x RM75 = RM0.60

A question need to ask, if we pay our house loan monthly...will the CL be limited? Last time (5 years ago), bank will provide us higher CL even we still pay our house loan, now the system changed to limited CL if there is house loan committed?
*
my simplified view of this.

if u have house loan, that is a commitment (to you) but a risk (to bank).

bank may limit cc cl to reduce their risk exposure (i.e. whether you CAN repay the cc outstanding if you MAX out the CL).

they do consider all your financial risks, e.g. house loan, hire purchase, all your CCs, before giving you an acceptable level of CL for your new card, if approved. if bank is not comfortable with you, of course outright reject.

do note that each bank has different formula to assess your financial health or capability to service any credit facilities.

you can have Premier card from Bank A, but may not get approved for Platinum card from Bank B biggrin.gif

If not mistaken many of you saying that the statement date is fixed on 28th of every month, but I managed to change to statement date to 3rd of every month
*
interesting.

i just called CS. he said for CIMB CR, the statement date is fixed due to cashback calculation is fixed to 28th laugh.gif

then, i claimed someone got a new card with statement date on 3rd. he was curious too, but he can try to put in my request to change statement date to 3rd. biggrin.gif now, let's see if it's possible.

i suspect they can only fix the statement for new card, not ad-hoc request for existing.

well, if they cant change 28th, for sure they cant change 3rd as well laugh.gif

for online, this card is ok. try UOB VOX too.

for hypermarket, try MBB Ikhwan, or if you feel challenging, get HLB Wise.

I can confirm that myEG payments get 5%!

Actually i was expecting 0.2% but my Watami wasn't accepted, so since none of my cards really can get much better than 0.2% I just try.

Results, please check my maths:-
Other spending - RM544.48 (all confirmed 5%, things like Lazada, Qoo10, Zalora)
Insurance (myEG) payment - RM393.73
Cashback received - RM30 (exactly)

For me, that means must have gotten 5% to push my total cashback to exactly RM30. If get 0.2% my cashback should only be RM28 by my calculation.

Airasiago.com (hotel booking only - 0.8% cross border fee)
Zalora online, website not app.

double-checking on Zalora Web purchases using CIMB CR.

1) Did you get OTP sms? i didnt get any, but receive transaction confirmation SMS. Dont know qualified as Online or not smile.gif

2) Merchant name displayed in SMS is JADE ESERVICES M SDN BHD ?

3) No cross border fee, i suppose since it didnt go thru oversea payment gateway.

But your cash rebate is still dated 29th correct?

Personally, I would really like to move the statement date. It differes from my other cards. Kinda annoying.

I just changed mine yesterday

cimb cs agent called back. said already escalated my request to change statement date to higher level to review my case, answer: not possible to change.

i argued a "friend" with new cimb cr card can be assigned to 3rd for statement date. he asked me to give card number or NRIC to verify. obviously i cant give him to check, with or without consent la laugh.gif

well, not bother to nag since rarely use it after gotten UOB VOX or PBB VS.

6) Eu Yan Sang outlet
