I was approached by HSBC cc promoter and I kindly declined the offer citing I have enough cc at the moment. I was asked if I already have 4 cc from different bank. Is that the reason CIMB keeps declining my application since I already have cc from 4 different banks. Is there such hidden criteria in the bank industry to limit the usage?

Guys, do you have problems having Financial Charges from CIMB Cash Rebate when you pay the statement amount minus cash rebate amount?

I just realize it in my this month statement and I dated back all the way until June15 there's at least 5 financial charges that I didn't notice before. And they are not consistent sometime they charge sometime they don't charge.

Damn... This CIMB is playing dirty. I'm going to complain to BNM.

it's a known "issue" with CIMB CR.

since you'll be continuing using the card anyway, just pay statement amount to be safe and peace of mind.

your next statement will include the latest cashback.

Yeah I guess I will do that... But I didn't know before this...
I guess I will complain to BNM to get my rebate for the past 1 year and pay statement amount from now on.

you may try to contact cimb cs first to get all that waived. but it's quite long ago, not sure they will still entertain or not.

i normally pay one day before statement day so i will have no issue on this.

But please correct me the issue that you meant and other forumers meant was, "paying only the amount payable after cash rebate deducted; after statement date of the month, during the 20 days free interest day"?

actually all of the above biggrin.gif

eg

Statement cutoff: 28 May 2016 (contain last month's cashback credited on 29 April 2016), e.g. RM1,000

Cashback credited: 29 May 2016 (to be appeared in next statement on 28 June 2016), e.g. RM50

Payment Due Date: 17 June 2016 (20-day interest free period from 28 May statement)

So, on or before 17 June, if you pay Statement Amount = RM1,000, then no issue with finance charge cuz you paid your statement amount in full.

However, if you pay Statement Amount (RM1,000) minus Cashback (RM50) = RM950, there could be an issue whereby CIMB system considered you didnt pay statement in full (less RM50!).

Do you have the message from CIMB at first?

Mine took less than 30 seconds for me to receive the reply.

Yup... thats why I reply the SMS. Anyways, re-registered again using the "CASH3" method and received a reply... wasted 1 SMS!

All the trouble just because of an amt less than RM50. 1 month interest of RM50 is less than 20sen.

Yeah I did, then they said "We don't have any statement info earlier than 6 months ago".
I said I could see up to 1 year ago from CIMB clicks.
They said sorry their system only 6 months.

Thus, to BNM now.

Unfortunately, it's more than that. About RM50-RM60 in total.
And it's more of the principle of them cheating your money.

If CIMB have this system issue, why they have 3 options for you to pay in CIMB clicks?
1. Minimum RM50
2. Statement amount
3. Outstanding amount (Statement - Rebates)

Also my fault for not checking before...

I just got charges for financial

Reason is, i did called for statement date change, hence, my 1st statement is kinda mess.

Called them what is it about, and they told me its as above. They will waive for me, but only after next statement is out, and need to call them again.

Really troublesome. Regret now change statement date.

So to all, stick with your current statement date..lol
