Hi All ,

May i ask is that CIMB any of the card also can get rebate for Insurance payment ?
5%?

Category Cash Rebate Eligible Merchants / MCC Eligible Transaction Type
E-Commerce/Online Spend 5% POSMODE 81 Excluding Airlines (MCC 3000-3299, 4511), Insurance (MCC 5960, 6300), Utility (MCC 4900) and Mobile Bill Payments (MCC 4813, 4814).
*
Not for this CB Rebate card.

For insurance, usually Aeon Watami is much better.

QUOTE(HeHeHunter @ Feb 9 2016, 06:06 PM)
The only reason I am still keeping this card is just because of the no annual fee and 10% discount when purchasing liquor at KLIA/KLIA2. Other than that I don't even use it.

Do you guys keep it for the RM 50 cashback?
*
I usually get an average of 60~70+ from this card ( I have 1 supp ) so yeah, this card is worth keeping for the promotional items and online cash back.

As for utilities, I either dump that to Amex completely for points or take the effort to go Sam Groceria and pay em off for vouchers and rebates.

Can't complain much for an entry level card. Most of my hotel stays are paid for by this card since it has 7% off at Agoda / 5% CB for online / Promotional rates for stays at some hotels.

Anyone knows if there is minimum required spending for online 5% cashback? cant find in TnC but when calculate on my statement some online spending didn't get 5%
*
No minimum spend required.

As for some online spending not given 5%, do check if they fall into other form of category instead of online.

Payment for utilities and etc would probably fall under other retail and so forth.

If you found a legit reason however, just drop a call to CIMB and they'll probably credit it back the next statement date.

How long will the application approved?
*
On the spot at selected branches.

2 weeks for normal procedure.

QUOTE(Osho @ Feb 15 2016, 10:03 PM)
OK thanks.

Anyone knows if we must pay exactly as per statement or we can pay statement amount (balance @28th) minus rebate we received on 29th (outstanding balance @29th).

Will CIMB charge interest if we pay outstanding without paying statement amount?
*
No idea but to be safe, always pay statement amount.

There are cases of people being slapped with penalty for doing so.

Just dive back to the earlier thread or so.

Well, you just gotta be careful with CIMB Agoda thingy when comes to online transactions cash back. laugh.gif
*
IIRC -

Agoda will usually charge your card ( Regardless of pay later or pay now ) unless there state : Pay at Hotel.

I usually book through Agoda, only hotel that need to pay over at counter is Mandarin Oriental laugh.gif

The rest, Agoda collect the payment 1st.

So far, Agoda most reliable in getting 5% and occasionally 7% off and 5% back.

Booking.com usually more expensive and Expedia honestly sucks laugh.gif

So far my Agoda is booked via VOX and get shopback.
I'm just afraid I will miss out cash back from CIMB CR and it has this 0.8% border charges. sad.gif
*
CIMB weakness is you have to follow up.

Every month I draw an excel table and calculate laugh.gif

So far, CIMB did not "makan" my 5% CB.

agoda will always charge your card, unless they go through their sister company (booking.com) for your booking at mandarin oriental.

Mandarin Oriental is pay over the counter.

Agoda won't charge your card.

I remember last time, they did not charge my card.

If the petrol station decided to charge your CC twice for single petrol pump, would you feel worried?
*
Swipe inside counter => charged immediate amount.

Swipe at pump => 200 ringgit authorization.

Quite impossible for petrol station to charge your card twice.

Because once you put the pump back into the machine, the transaction was captured and an invoice issued.

Just received a call from cimb officer for my application via cimbclick that got rejected for cimb cr.

She told me its not rejected, but canceled due to late upload document, but, i actually waiting for the system to upload, then suddenly the application rejected.

Applied again with her, with rm50 cashback. a few minutes later received email application rejected.so fast.

called them whats wrong with my application, cs told me not meet the score.ask him whats the score, cant tell..

Straight away send email to bnm with template given earlier from other thread.
*
BNM will probably ignore you.

1st - It's up to banks to approve your application / applications based on their own criteria.

2nd - They are not obliged to disclose reason of rejection.

You'll probably get a nice call from someone to apologize for the rejection and ask you to try again 6 months later laugh.gif

But yeah, I do hope their online system improves. It's terrible by far.

*
New issuance of my latest cards all come with Pin & Pay d.

QUOTE(ctandk @ Apr 4 2016, 12:25 AM)
they do by batch for replacement. i receive my mastercard 2 weeks ago.
for my visa, still old card.

how u can change to new pinpay card faster?
1) call cust serv, they will block your card asap and new pinpay card will be deliver to u in 2 weeks.
2) walk in to any 1 hour card centre etc sunway/klcc/gardens before daily cut off time for 1 hour replacement either 3pm or 4pm although they open till late, if u go late, u can only put request and collect it the next day.

i did that because in 1 week im travelling overseas which pinpay will be more convenience.
*
Can't afford to get my card blocked laugh.gif

Coz I am using CIMB solely for my usual expenses for claims.

QUOTE(Andicom @ Apr 18 2016, 03:44 PM)
Hi guys

Can an expat with a work permit get CIMB credit card?

He was a master graduated student, continued as intern at a local company for few months while waiting for the work permit which he recently received. So, there was no salary slip (only payment into his bank account). He will get his first salary payslip end of this month.

He's looking to get a cc as soon as possible from any bank. Anyone can help?

Docs he has :
1. Bank statement with proof of income (prior to work permit)
2. Copy of work permit (employment pass)
3. Letter of employment from HR
4. Passport copy
5. Any bills if any (phone, internet)
*
Intern can get 24k PA (min for locals / expat maybe even more) ?

No salary slip = no proof of income.

I can every month receive rental income but without Tenancy Agreement to support it, those numbers does not matter to the bank.
