i kinda forget but if there was a direct debit on the card the credit card provider will still categorise whether it is under utilities, insurance, telco etc right ? just wanted to confirm .....
How to direct debit? Cash advance/withdrawal on the credit card?
i mean if you give the details of your cc they will auto debit every month so let's say insurance, the insurance provider when they process your card, i am guessing their payment gateway would be put as insurance so is that how the credit card companies know which categories it belongs to ?
After having my company's supplied Citibank corporate credit card for 3 years, today only I noticed it gives 25 days free interest period unlike our usual commercial credit cards which give only 20 days.
Just sharing, good for me because we reimburse our expenses and sometimes could take a bit of time because processed by other region's team.
msia only give 25 days, other countries give 55 days free interest
I got general concern regarding the cc. Lets say when dining, izit ok or safe to pass our cc to the waiter for the payment. Afte all we paid the service charge then y need to walk to cashier isnt it.
Can something goes wrong tho?
it should be safe but if you are worried you can activate the sms transaction alert of RM1 with your bank CS so you can be rest assured if there is any swipes which you didn't make
I don't like cimb but since I don't know if my uob vox is approved or not, I gotta keep cimb for another 2 months. I have been paying outstanding a few months, then suddenly got charged finance charge for my february statement.
Complained, they reversed the finance charge. CS say maybe cause I didn't clear statement balance. But seems like you are doing that and still fine.
How do u check how much cashback did u get? I got 5% cashback on dining on weekend using maybank2 card but i check statement got no such information provided.
edit: i checked directly with mbb, only reflected on 1st june...
by manually calculating yourself to see if the cashback tallies ?
Is there any credit card in Malaysia that offer you longer interest free settlement period like 40 - 60 days ?
hopefully one day msia companies can offer all the cc with 55 interest free days just like other countries, i just found out that in oz you can get 1 year interest free then pay back in full
Yes just call and tell them, not interested anymore. They are quite efficient in removing. I wanted to convert from my existing GE Plat to 365, everything was OK and they even sent me the card as well. Unfortunately, AF was charged immediately. I called in for waiver, received SMS on the next day that it's not successful. Immediately called them to cancel it as I haven't activated it.
Only if you are totally new to OCBC, you will get first year free AF, else no chance to waive at all. Based on a few forummers' feedback as well.
well if you knew 2nd year won't be able to get waiver so don't think will apply ?
abit serious note: I think we should be more objective about this. while i like to swipe my credit card around, those merchants who charge you 2% or wants minimum payment is because those are their additional expenses when you pay credit card, compared to paying by cash.
places where they don't care, probably already priced it in, making the goods & services more expensive than it should be, and you spend more.
merchants are not supposed to do that , u can try to take a pic of the 2% charge if they displayed outright and report to bnm so that they can suspend their terminals or fine these merchants instead

Did anyone get annual fees waived for Citibank reward card? They recently moved my platinum card to Reward card and refused to waive the annual fees. They charges RM600 to my barely used account. The reward card is designed to use your point to contra the annual fees, 127,000 point if I remember correctly. Otherwise, there is no way they going to waive the RM600 annual fees. Does anyone experience this?
as long you haven't use the card after you been charged the annual fees, you can get it waive or cancel the card
