QUOTE(xphr3ak @ Apr 27 2016, 12:08 AM) No. Before m2c, i used Citibank, MBF, Aeon, Cimb, Bank Islam, and Rhb. Thanks. What happened to your existing CIMB card? Technically, applying new card from the same bank usually sharing the same CL and should not affect your application.

QUOTE(laymank @ Apr 26 2016, 09:06 PM) Are you new to credit cards? If yes, then you probably want to keep these cards and build up your credit histories for a year or so before apply other credit cards. if u want to apply cards from the same bank, better u apply new first then only cancel existing.. if apply other bank, this card should not affect your chances of getting other card, provided that your income is high enough as per card requirement This post has been edited by deity01: Apr 27 2016, 10:38 AM

Hey guys, got a quesion on credit limit. Im planning on applying a home loan. And thinking of reducing my CL from 10k to 5k, so that it would give better chance for the loan approval. My question is, would reducing out CL have any affect on loan application? I got 2 cards (CIMB CB/MB Ikwan) with 10k each, so planning on reducing both.

In other words, the approval should be verified against the property value, your income vs commitments rather than how much CL you have, in my humble opinion. Unlike credit card, there is nothing the bank can hold from you if you don't pay.

Unlike credit card, there is nothing the bank can hold from you if you don't pay. I checkd with my banker, he went through my finances and in the record i could see my ccs' CLs. I asked him, and he said the bank would take it into account too, but not much. Not much is still something for me hehe

And I am sure the 5% difference is far higher than cutting 5K CL.

Sorry but I don't have CIMB supp. Can't help much but knowing me even if I have one, I will still split payment. Easier for me and only spend additional RM 0.11 rather than calling and checking with them. However, that's just me.

https://genxgenygenz.com/2016/04/22/the-bes...ash-back-cards/https://genxgenygenz.com/2016/04/24/the-bes...laysia-part-ii/Captain Gen-X has done a great job explaining about this credit card combo. In this 'Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Loyalty Cards' subforum, do we have a specific thread that provides further discussion on the methods of using AEON Credit Cards plus Online Cash Back Cards? - Which AEON card is most suitable to be a part of this combo? - How do we calculate the effective cashback of this combo, accounting for 2% fee and 6% GST (imposed by PosOnline) and RM1.50 fee (imposed by Aeon)? Gen-X has stated 1% to 4% cash back, but I would like to know how to calculate the exact effective cashback. Thank you.
