Statement date have to check with CS or just wait till first statement is generated, can view from respective online banking site.

I personally have never had a problem with them and have received many many many gifts (i.e. tablet, Smart Tag, vouchers, coffee machine, vacuum, smart phone etc etc) over the past few years from applying (and re-applying after cooling off period) for CC like HSBC, SCB, UOB, Citibank etc.

Sometimes need to follow up on the gifts, and it seems like a long time, but they have always delivered.

I also personally do not see an increase in marketing (no more than the normal marketing from banks). For example, I did not apply for HLB through Ringgit plus. However, the MOST calls I receive are from HLB.

Send an email to their CS saying that you were recently rejected by them. Tell them you should be approved as you fulfilled the requirement. Ask them to reconsider your application again.

Be patient. Sometimes banks could take up to a month.
