Anyone's a scientist here? Biomedic qualified??

Just wanted to know how much a biomedic degree holder could earn.... Coz I think I wan to take Biomedic degree course next year after matriculation... Still curious about the salary , dowh...

Hoping to get PhD in 12 years (at the age of 30 , hopefully cry.gif ) ... My bro is going for PhD next year , and my sis wanted to take PhD too in 2009 ... Im not going to be the only one who didnt have "Dr." (Put aside medic , LOL short-cut) ...

PS: I prefer biomedic than medic ...

Biomedic, biotech, bio informatics are all subjects of science thus by that you are called a scientist. However to earn is another different story.

Usually a science fresh grad usually earn from RM1200 - RM2200 depending on company.

If you were to pursue into Masters and PhD, you have to enter into research field where usually depending on professor you are with, to get government grants fundings for research or not. For these you can have a salary while researching and studying for your postgrad. (take note that this happens in local Unis...I'm not sure about studying abroad)

Then when you grad, holding a DR title, you either become a lecturer while undergoing research or maybe work in a company (only a few company which is hiring PhD holders) in Malaysia. Else work overseas. whistling.gif

If you plan to do research in academia, your basic Salary in Malaysia should start from around 3k for a starting lecturer in a Private U.

Then of course you can supplement that with grants, consultancy jobs etc.
