HS-6L Long-Range UAV
    Vietnam Successfully Made Long Range UAV Dec 14, 2015 cademy of Science and Technology of Vietnam in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Security has successfully developed unmanned aircraft HS-6L which could fly 4.000km . According to information from the Academy of Science and Technology, unmanned aerial vehicle HS-6L is a collaborative project with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, complete prototype fabrication to date 01/11/2015. On the occasion of Academician Professor Gusakov, Chairman of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Belarusian delegation to visit and work at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the Institute has launched the electronic reconnaissance aircraft unmanned long-range and implementing the flight test program. Assoc. Dr. Pham Ngoc Lang, Chairman of the research project, said Vietnam has enough ability to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicle range to serve the cause of economic development and social-security contribution Organization country. According to Vietnam, the unmanned aerial vehicle HS-6L has a wingspan of 22m, equipped with Rotax 914 engine for its range cruise to 4.000km, continuous operating time of 35 hours, using satellite navigation systems . HS-6L capable of carrying reconnaissance camera, radar. Estimated flight test program unmanned aerial vehicle HS-6L will take place on the South China Sea in QII / 2016. |

“ BLADE RUNNERS Codename: Operation Gonzales ” is a documentary film based on a 1974 operation codename Op-eration Gonzales that was conducted by the Malaysian Armed Forces against their greatest threat - the Communist Insurgents. In April 1974, Major General Mohd. Ghazali Seth publicly announced that there would be a military training exercise launched in Sungei Siput and Cameron Highlands in the deep-forested area of the Peninsula Malaysia. This was a ploy to trap and capture Communists insurgents who were operating in the jungles of Perak and Pahang. Four bri-gades, three from the Malaysian Army and one brigade from the Police Field Force (Pasukan Polis Hutan) were tasked to crush the 5th and 6th assault units of the rebels. The first attack was planed and executed by Malaysian Special Service Regiment (MSSR) commander, Lieutenant Colonel Borhan Ahmad. His mission: Search & destroy 70 members of the communist units. The army commandos are led by 9th troop commander Lieutenant Zainal Abidin Husin, move into the booby-trapped jungle where the communist insurgents hide. Lieutenant Zainal’s platoon is ambushed by twenty communist insurgents between a river and a steep hill. Zainal and his men face the enemy with the odds against them. The Soldiers waded forward through muddy water and thick foliage that gave the enemy a perfect camouflage. Two of his men are badly wounded and Ben the K9 sniffing dog, pays with his life. However, Zainal and his men don’t back down. They manage to shoot and kill three insurgents. Zainal knows that they are loosing light and the risks are high in the dark night. The Royal Malaysian Air Force NURI squadron receives an urgent call for assistance. Captain Abdul Rahim bin Abdul Rahman the head of the detachment responds to the call. The standard operating procedure at the time is that they cannot fly in darkness. Time is of the essence, Captain Rahim ignores the SOP and flies with his team to medivac the wounded men and Ben the dog, with all odds against them. Rahim’s daring effort saved the lives of the brave men who were trapped in Kinta, Perak on the 19th April 1974. Operation Gonzales is considered as one of the most successful secret operations conducted by the Malaysian Armed Forces during the war against insurgency in 1970’s and 1980’s.       |
