No.. I found out myself..

try taking a drive these routes

1) Cyberjaya to KLCC and back 80km in total (Crazy)
2) Cyberjaya to PJ and back 80km in total (Crazy)

dont forget the toll's

Ive also stayed at shaftsbury residence cyberjaya try giving it a go.

Its basically a dead town on weekends.
*
wrong info, it is 70KM, 35 km each way. non peak hour, start my car from KLCC till park my car at cyber, within 40mins (I can make 30mins sometimes, avg speed 100 all the way straight in mex). peak hour, within 1hour, due to the jam in jalan tun razak. I tested this everyday.

for those who stay in PJ,Puchong, shah alam, seri kembangan or cheras selatan. non peak hour, 45mins, peak hour 1.5hr-2hour. these place are 20-30km away from klcc.

very simple reason, from klcc to cyber is "jam-smooth-home", to other conjested residential place "jam-smooth-jam in the town-home"

expensive toll, yes, petrol...almost the same bcos long travel time also consume petrol.

no problem bro biggrin.gif , cyberjaya got few happening place but it is scattered around and outsider may not know where it is....just like oldtown is cyber is 24hour, always full house, if there is no demand, they wont operate 24/7/365...

cyberjaya is not well developed yet, if u take dpulze or prima 3 to conclude cyberjaya, u will say cyber is happening...if u just visit cyber United Nation office area and conclude your impression to cyber, it is a dead town...but for me is liveable la smile.gif

It's just that you guys not familiar with the place.
Old town area - padi, Tokyo café, starbucks, burger lab etc..... else go to D'pulze for karaoke, bowling, jaya grocery nice café...plan B...Japanese food zanmai sushi...
Shaftbury square for kiraku....korean food..... western / eastern.... go Hops & Grapes English pub for yum seng..... disco club at Cyberheight club house...
Semua ada except pasar mlm and 4D shop.
*
Glomac also quite happening but it is abit hidden, not facing the main road, face to face pan mee, Tokyo lunch, café, viet-thai fusion restaurant...all these place are just less than 10mins smooth drive from MBTL, SEG, symphony hill...etc etc...

its all individual preference and circumstances.

if you only eat tai chow once a week or longer....spending 15mins to dengkil is not that bad

beside....it also depends on each individual family.....if you are type that do plenty home cooking, or eat out before returning home and etc......obviously no tai chow nearby is not a problem

my scenario is assume I am a retired person and need to eat out 3 times per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and also need to watch my spending (no starbuck kopi for brekkie).............your 15mins WILL NOT passed my test....

like I said, its individual
*
well said bro, its individual biggrin.gif

Unless the row of commercial shoplot is just behind your home, most likely you need to drive out from your home to dine out.

Personally for me... 5 or 15 minutes is irrelevant and most important is the drive is jam free. We are not comparing 5 vs 30 or 45 minutes drive.

And second, unless you are really a fan or loyal to the specific taichow, most likely you will venture to numerous of places to dine out. I knew some purposely drive out from SEP to SJ or Sunway just to dine out.
*
yes, agree, that's the point I try to illustrate... biggrin.gif

Yea agree, but very limited space left for new shops. Maybe Centrus @ CBD3 can compliment that. They r schedule to open in Q1 2016.
*
I doubt centrus will open so soon and able to survive, unless they can attract famous brand...

wah they dare to do at 10pm! No worry about safety? hmm.gif
*
that's why cycling lane is needed. when there are more cyclist and cycling in the town become a normal scene, car will give way to them

many area is covered by cctv and cyberjaya has vr low crime rate, especially snatch and run case

As an traffic engineer, I would say that cycling lane will not be effective. Is just the same concept of motorcycle lane you see in Muar town.

Driver in Malaysia will not give a shit about that.
*
bro, as an traffic engineer, its your job the make the cycling lane effective la... biggrin.gif just kidding

btw, different town have different culture...the most important is right culture inject to the town, now I already can see car slow down when they see cyclist on the road.

ppl feel it is safe that's why there are more and more cyclist on the road, in future they will be more cars for sure but they will drive according to the road condition since they know cyber is known for cycling town, bang on a bicycle is much serious then bang on a car blink.gif

Well, I just speak based on the research done by developed countries on the feasibility of transport mobility.

Of course I hope it will be a success to cyberjaya.  icon_rolleyes.gif
