Dear Maxis user, please be aware of their attitude when something went wrong on their part. No sincere apologies or regret. Been with them for more than 15 years and all they can give is excuses when something went wrong. Below is my case and complaints to Communications & Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia :

Pada 29hb Nov 2015 jam 3.00 petang,melalui iklan di mudah.my, saya dan isteri telah pergi ke Berjaya Times Square untuk menemui seorang penjual telefon bimbit yang mengakui beliau bekerja di digi untuk membeli telefon darinya. Kami berjumpa di starbuck dan diminta olehnya nama, no k/p , no telefon dan kad kredit untuk menbuat transaksi. Selepas 10 minit kami mendapati telefon kami tidak menpunyai talian. Saya mula syak yang kami mungkin telah ditipu lalu meminta bantuan dari orang awam untuk pinjam telefon. Selepas meminta beberapa orang akhirnya dapat meminjam telefon untuk buat panggilan ke pihak bank untuk menbatalkan kad kredit tetapi malangya transaksi RM 3000 telah pun dibuat terhadap kad kredit. Pihak bank berjanji akan cuba menbatalkan transaksi tersebut. Selepas itu saya menelefon maxis untuk bertanya kenapa talian saya disekat dan menurut mereka saya telah menelefon untuk menbatalkan perkhidmatan saya padahal saya tidak menbuat begitu dan menberitahu mereka yang ada pihak lain telah menyamal saya untuk menbuat panggilan tersebut. Saya terus menbuat aduan kepada mereka dan diberi no aduan C17089xxx untuk penyiasatan seterusnya. Saya dijanji penyiasatan akan mengambil masa 3 hari bekerja akan tetapi selapas 3 hari masih belum ada jawapan lalu saya menefon mereka untuk jawapan dan jawapan yang saya terima adalah kes ini akan memakan masa yang lebih panjang. Selepas itu saya dihubungi pihak maxis dan diberitahu apabila mereka mendengar semula rakaman pertama, didapati ada seorang lelaki yang menyamal sebagai anak saya menbuat laporan mengenai kehilangan telefon bimbit saya dan isteri dan meminta pihak maxis untuk menyekat talian kami tetapi pihak maxis tidak berbuat demikian kerana tidak dapat pengesahan daripada saya. Lepas itu pihak maxis ada mendapat panggilan lagi yang berjaya menyekat talian saya dan isteri yang dilakukan oleh orang yang menyamal sebagai saya tetapi apabila saya bertanya apakah yang dibual oleh orang tersebut dalam rakaman, pihak maxis berkata rakaman itu masih diproses oleh pihak mereka dan akan menhubungi saya apabila dapat disiasat. Selepas hampir 5 hari berlalu masih tak dapat berita dari maxis saya pun menbuat kritikan di laman facebook maxis pada 9hb Dec. Selepas itu saya dapat panggilan dari maxis mengenai aduan saya. Jawapan yang diberi adalah seperti berikut : Pihak maxis telah menbuat siasatan dan mendapati tiada rakaman pada hari kejadian mengenai pihak yang menbuat panggilan tersebut dan ini juga adalah prosedur biasa mereka untuk menyekat talian apabila menerima panggiran sesiapapun mengenai telefon yang telah hilang tanpa mendapat pengesahan daripada tuan akaun. Apabila saya mendapat jawapan yang sedemikian rupa, saya amat marah sekali sebab 1) apa maksud prosedur biasa apabila seseorang kehilangan telefon boleh tanpa mendapat pengesahan menbuat sekatan talian? Adakah bermaksud siapa siapa sahaja boleh telefon ke pusat pelanggan maxis dan sesuka hati menyekat talian dengan alasan telefon hilang dan dapat berjaya berbuat demikian tanpa kemukakan sebarang pengesahan? 2) kenapa apabila saya ingin maklumat dari pusat pelanggan maxis saya perlu menbuat pengesahan seperti no. k/p, alamat rumah, cara menbuat bayaran dan cara menerima statement bulanan? Akan tetapi sekarang orang yang melaporkan kehilangan telefon tidak perlu pengesahan sedemikian rupa. Adakah ini betul dan prosedur biasa bagi pihak penbekal perkhidmatan? 3) Kenapa tiba tiba tidak ada rakaman perbualan telefon antara orang tersebut dengan maxis? Adakah ini satu keajaiban? 4) Kalau prosedur ini boleh diterima, kita sebagai pelanggan masih boleh merasai selamat ke nyawa dan harta kita? Apa kata masa itu orang jahat ingin menbuat sesuatu terhadap nyawa kita dan sebelum melaksanakannya telah menbuat panggiran kepada pusat khidmat pelanggan maxis untuk melaporkan kehilangan telefon bimbit saya lalu menyekat talian saya? Bukankah ini akan menbahayakan nyawa kita?
Saya berharap pihak CFM dapat menbantu saya mendapat jawapan yang lebih bermakna dari apa yand saya perolehi dari mereka. Bagi saya kes saya seolah olah ingin ditutup secepat mungkin oleh pihak maxis. Siapa yang salah dan bertanggungjawab?

After reading your post.. I may conclude as per below:

1) Digi or Maxis ? At first you said you due with Digi Staff and then out of sudden you said Maxis line registration issue ?

2) If Maxis line, why you purchase the phone/line via Digi staff ? Kind of weird?

3) Why you purchase phone and line not at Digi or Maxis Center but not at Starbucks? and why you just provide all your information like IC, phone number, Credit card details to a person you first meet ?

4) Do you know what is the procedure for changes/suspension line for call center, like what others said before, with you full name, IC, address etc, I can call to any bank or telco which you having account with and proceed for any request as I wish ?

5) Be careful next time

1) This is regarding Maxis shit service and not digi. If you care to read properly then you will understand the story. The conman claimed he is from digi and wanted to sell me a phone and post the ad in mudah.my

2) refer to above.

3) i was promised a subsidise phone from digi using others customers data plan. and the reason i provided my details such as ic no, phone no and credit card is because i knew i can make a phone call to my card centre to notify them regarding this transaction for today and also to cancel any unauthorised transaction. but now the issue is why the guy can suspend my line through maxis call centre with only my ic no? is this the right procedure and protocol from maxis? by the way i manage to cancel the unauthorised use of my card for that day using other phone.

4) yes i know the procedure, that's why i find something fishie fishie when the guy can manage to bar my line only using my ic no.

Sorry, i don't understand what you are trying to portrait here but i will try my best to make you aware that this is regarding maxis call centre and the reason i posted this topic is to make maxis user knows that we are vulnerable regarding our security. do you know that everyone can suspend our line with just a phone call to maxis call centre? they just need to say that this phone has been stolen and please suspend the line temporary. thats all!! don't you think we as a customer will feel secure this way. by right they should ask for security questions like how we make payment, how we receive our monthly statement and etc, right? or maybe give us a call to double check whther they are really speaking to the account holder. and also why they is no recording of the conversation on that day? don't you think it's weird?

fyi, this topic is not about the scam, it's about us the maxis user which maxis take for granted and can simply suspend our line without our consent and also i want maxis user to be aware of how vulnerable our situation is regarding our line, and also i did not lost anything to the bugger as i manage to cancel the transaction using other phone. the scammer also got caught by police today. rclxm9.gif rclxms.gif

From what you reply..for number 3.. I am getting more confuse.. If you complaint for Maxis.. why out of sudden said what subsidies phone from Digi? does it related to this issue??

And also, I just check with my friend working at telco call center or even bank.. if you manage to provide the details for verification, of course they will proceed to block/suspend as per request, as long as you have passed the verification process, from the point of law, they are doing nothing wrong, and everything is recorded.

I believe it is not only applicable for Maxis, but all others call center as well.

The moral of the story is, protect your personal details.

Bro, please read everything la, a guy who claimed that he works in digi offer to sell me a subsidies phone (which means cheaper than market price la) using other people's account in digi and advertise it in muday.my
but i'm not trying to highlight this guy working in digi or the subsidise phone. what i'm trying to say is and also like what you say above all the telco need verification in order for them to suspend our line, correct or not? but for my case the scammer only need to provide my phone no and ic no. and no recording for that as well. don't you think the telco need a more stringent verification process like asking for our address, how we pay our bill or maybe give us account holder a return call to verify?

Both need to improve n be more coutious...TS and maxis. Sadly to say...it's all started with you TS.

You should shouldn't let anyone have your IC,CC n walk away from you. IT'S NO, NO & NO!

If u want buy the phone, ask the seller the phone. He show it, you show him cash. Nothing else. Thats the way it is.

Ps: inb4 mudah.my got lot of scammer...
