QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 10 2015, 04:21 PM) I found that OCBC FD placement is tedious and time consuming. Took more than 30 min to place a FD. Take Q number to meet the relationship office at desk outside the teller, (instead to counter/teller), then the officer fill in form and key in some info into computer, only then pass the document to the teller and still wait for teller to print the acknowledgement slip. Seem like "double work". Instead other bank, either officer or teller key in and print directly the slip and just let officer behind to sign off. Indeed they are, I've been there twice and I find each time, it's taking up my time just to wait. And furthermore, no lenglui to ease my time there.

I so freakishly and f**kingly hate Hong Leong Bank counter services. Had FD matured from Maybank last week. Proceeded to HL Bandar Puteri Puchong this morning at 11am. Took a no - 2020. Waited half hour, then decided to go to someone sitting at a desk to ask if I have to fill up a form. Was told I'll have to open a Savings account. Took another no starting with 3xxx, filled up form. This was pretty fast. Took less than 10 mins, then she ask the guard to press a no for FD placement, and was given 2025. I thought 2020 has passed. In the end, it was still 2015. WTF! Basically, waited from 11am to 1205pm, and still the no did not move at all from 2015. I then left.
At 2:47pm, went to HL near Puchong Prima (I think), got a no 2033 and currently serving 2026. I thought only 7 nos behind me. Waited 25 mins, and it was still 2026. WTF! Imagine 7 nos x 25 mins, how long do I have to wait for 2033?
AArghhhhhh .... I'm wondering whether the 4.5% is worth the trouble or not.

QUOTE(intrepidity85 @ Jan 26 2016, 03:56 PM) that is why online banking serve the purposes That only works if you already have a banking account (if the FD requires one) and that promos can be done via online banking. Otherwise, as with most FD promos, counter is the only method. Except for Maybank where I have a RM that does it for me via email.

QUOTE(LakeEdger @ Jan 27 2016, 01:43 AM) Hi, why not try opening a hong leong mach moneybox account? i opened it at ioi mall puchong last Tuesday. There was no one waiting at all. The customer service took abt. 10 minutes to create the account, and 5 minutes to setup hlb internet banking (connect). Then, you can transfer money online to this mach account. Efd 4.5% can be made online via moneybox. I had Mach account 2 years ago, until I closed it mid last year. Didn't need it coz HLB has been very stingy when it comes to FD rates. Anyway, went to Bandar Puteri branch again 5 mins before the opened this morning and got it done in 15 mins. What a relief. EFD can be made with the 4.5% @ 6 mths promo? I can only see their standard rates in Mach website. And took me 30 mins in queue to change new notes for CNY
