in klang valley?

depends on location and branch. if big city the cut off will be larger. small city or small no of depositor, the limit lower.

here in Melaka, 200k gets nothing.

I thought there is a new FD promo from AmBank.

OK, checked my record, did put in Oct to Nov 2015 into the 2 years 4.6% FD in AmBank.  thumbup.gif Quite substantial sum also. Luckily did not wait for the 5% dream of Dr Bones.  tongue.gif
*

has anyone tried to use single cheque (so consider as fresh fund) for multiple FDs?

like a piece of 50k cheque, then split to 3 FDs.

FD 1 15k - 3 months.
FD 2 15k - 6 months.
FD 3 20k - 12 months.
*
the cheque is from the same bank?

Keep in mind that by splitting the banker's cheque, some banks will charge you 3x instead of just 1x (I am assuming you are going to take banker's cheque)
*
i think he wants to separate a single BC to multiple FD certs here

same with PBB also. withholding rm20. most prob will go ocbc. another stupid question, just to confirm the calculation, 15 mths 4.3% means placement RMxx,xxx x 4.3% = interest per annum, so divided by 12 then x 15 to get the interest earned? thx

agree with this.. among all banks, only BR give special gifts / invite for dinner with lucky draws for my area

best of all, always less ppl at BR and no need for long queue like BSN

overall, good service though no PIDM

QUOTE(intrepidity85 @ Feb 3 2016, 08:02 PM)
impossible lo.. 100-200k fd can get extra and can negotiate till 4.5-4.6% based on HQ approval

i did not bother to reply him at all tongue.gif

but since you highlight it i will explain. bank savings protected by PIDM and fixed deposit account protected by PIDM are 2 different things. not sharp but a bit blunt.

nah with rhb as well. must have good relation with managers/bankers ma.. nowadays we need banks to triple our wealth  smile.gif
*
well you can always spin again. we are at FD threads and you were talking about FD in both posts.

anyway, I have just reported you for multiple posts again. Twice at this page alone and several times before this. Happened at the credit card section too.

edited: three times at this page alone!

1st post, you were responding to a member query whether BSN FD is protected or not. When proven wrong, you claim ignorance that you thought FD by all banks are protected.

2nd post, you already know that BR is not protected.

If the amount is big like RM 200K and above, then Yes, BR will issue a banker's check..
*
Not sure about others in my branch. For my case, they can issue BC regardless of the amount. Sometimes just 10k or so. But maybe an exception coz been banking with them for quite some time.
