sweat.gif I guess I was lucky then. My acct re-activated with a call from their CS. Happily placed online one MACH FD few days ago. Have to be careful later after 6 mths or rather <1 years time as there would be monthly interest crediting (counted as activity ??).

Yea I guess so. I did tell the guy that "my friend did activate it online few months back" but he just kept apologizing and say he doesn't know how. sad.gif

Yea I did mention that you did a IBFT and someone called you to confirm transfer of the funds and reactivated the account.

Nope. My transfer was rejected, money went back into my CIMB account and no one called at all.

Went to UOB PB centre (no leng lui RM there  brows.gif ). Need new funds to get the current promo 4.4%. Cannot even top up 10k, 10% or 20% also. The RM said it depends on the HQ instruction. Current promo does not allow that.

Unlike our Captain. Salute to him !  notworthy.gif

Anyway the current 4.4% promo will end 31/1. On Monday the PB centre told me will end by 15/1. Looks like the ending date is dynamic and may change depending on the situation.

So, anyway moved to HL to get the 6 mth 4.5%.  biggrin.gif But too much eggs in HL except this is 6 mths so still OK in a way.  tongue.gif

Went to UOB to uplift FD yesterday. Asked can put back for the 4.4%. The sales counter (sitting down one) said cannot. I went to cashier counter also say cannot. I shown captain's post, also cannot.... After nego for awhile he said unless cash out in cash and go next counter.
I said OK. He passed me in cash...I took another number and he waited for another counter to take my number. I took out rm50 and put the rest into new FD 4.4%. smile.gif

I actually wanted to get 4.5% like what Captain said. Even if they offer the 4.4% to me, I will not take it. biggrin.gif

Make a fuss at their branch and ask to see the person in charge? HLBB along Federal Highway is the HQ besides KL.

The minimum requirements to qualify is how much?

Can't tell from the image - is this carry on-board size?

Well, haven't been here much, but you guys sure spend a lot of time chasing after 1 percent or 2.

Anyone considered bond funds?

Oh, those new funds thingy, is it? smile.gif

Every financial institution seems to be doing it, free luggage if you meet the requirements, not just FD but Credit cards as well.

Anyway, I moved some funds because of these "specials". I'm not going to do it again, because when I sat down and calculated the difference, it is simply not worth the effort. In my case anyway, for 0.x% types of difference.

It so happens that I could use a luggage and got one from some other recent promotion.

But please be assured that I'm not going to spend time monitoring all these promotions so I can get a luggage or two.

Back to my point, it seems that people in this thread spend to much time in chasing after too small percentages.

Well in case you didn't know, these people are not your average people. Their FDs account to a min of 6 digits. So when you have so much money, everything small is money. As bbgoat puts it, 3 days of interest can buy a dinner for his family. So you can imagine the amount of 3 days interest. Maybe about rm500?

Their FD amount is large until they can nego for higher rates. You get my point how large is large.

You missed the point completely.

What you need to learn is 3% is three-percent. Don't get confused about "so much money" because 3% is still 3% regardless of how much money is involved.

What you missed completely is 5% is greater than 3% where you disregard the irrelevant point of how much money is actually involved.

Understand the essential point before you reply.

i notice the offer was 4.30% 70k for 15month.
you will get RM4515 upon maturity + the luggage

i have other bank offer @ 4.5% if base on 70k for 15month.
i can get RM4725 upon maturity.

The bag worth RM210?
