QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Jan 8 2016, 05:25 PM) Yea I guess so. I did tell the guy that "my friend did activate it online few months back" but he just kept apologizing and say he doesn't know how. Not just online though they have a link to re-activate. My fund after IBFT disappeared few hrs later. A CS called me the next day. No one called you ? |

Yea I did mention that you did a IBFT and someone called you to confirm transfer of the funds and reactivated the account.Nope. My transfer was rejected, money went back into my CIMB account and no one called at all. |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jan 8 2016, 05:17 PM) Went to UOB PB centre (no leng lui RM there Went to UOB to uplift FD yesterday. Asked can put back for the 4.4%. The sales counter (sitting down one) said cannot. I went to cashier counter also say cannot. I shown captain's post, also cannot.... After nego for awhile he said unless cash out in cash and go next counter.Unlike our Captain. Salute to him ! Anyway the current 4.4% promo will end 31/1. On Monday the PB centre told me will end by 15/1. Looks like the ending date is dynamic and may change depending on the situation. So, anyway moved to HL to get the 6 mth 4.5%. I said OK. He passed me in cash...I took another number and he waited for another counter to take my number. I took out rm50 and put the rest into new FD 4.4%. This post has been edited by tbheng: Jan 8 2016, 07:09 PM |

After nego for awhile he said unless cash out in cash and go next counter. I actually wanted to get 4.5% like what Captain said. Even if they offer the 4.4% to me, I will not take it. I said OK. Well, haven't been here much, but you guys sure spend a lot of time chasing after 1 percent or 2.
Anyone considered bond funds? |

Anyway, I moved some funds because of these "specials". I'm not going to do it again, because when I sat down and calculated the difference, it is simply not worth the effort. In my case anyway, for 0.x% types of difference. |

It so happens that I could use a luggage and got one from some other recent promotion. But please be assured that I'm not going to spend time monitoring all these promotions so I can get a luggage or two. Back to my point, it seems that people in this thread spend to much time in chasing after too small percentages. |

QUOTE(howszat @ Jan 8 2016, 11:58 PM) It so happens that I could use a luggage and got one from some other recent promotion. Well in case you didn't know, these people are not your average people. Their FDs account to a min of 6 digits. So when you have so much money, everything small is money. As bbgoat puts it, 3 days of interest can buy a dinner for his family. So you can imagine the amount of 3 days interest. Maybe about rm500?But please be assured that I'm not going to spend time monitoring all these promotions so I can get a luggage or two. Back to my point, it seems that people in this thread spend to much time in chasing after too small percentages. Their FD amount is large until they can nego for higher rates. You get my point how large is large. |

You missed the point completely.Their FD amount is large until they can nego for higher rates. You get my point how large is large. What you need to learn is 3% is three-percent. Don't get confused about "so much money" because 3% is still 3% regardless of how much money is involved. What you missed completely is 5% is greater than 3% where you disregard the irrelevant point of how much money is actually involved. Understand the essential point before you reply. |
