I'm planning to take 3.1 and 3.3 this semester. Still trying to find a place to start my classes. Would really like to study in FTMS coz im familiar with the place, parking, where to eat etc.
However, does anyone knows the 3.1 lecturer Kabir, how good is he? Mr Chow for 3.3 is in the recommended lecturers list, so its fine. Would really need a great 3.1 lecturer coz i only barely pass my 2.6! Thanks in advance. Here's the profile for Kabir taken from the FTMS website: QUOTE An affiliate member of the ACCA, Kabir has the distinction of achieving the highest score in Singapore & 8th in the world, for paper 3.7, Strategic Financial Management, a subject on which he now lectures. As well as his four years teaching experience on the professional programmes, he has practical experience gained as a senior associate with a large auditing company. Here, he had responsibility for undertaking audits of clients' financial statements. A popular lecturer who has developed his own style of lively delivery, Kabir ensures that the students are fully informed and confident in the knowledge gained. QUOTE(niu_niu @ Feb 26 2007, 12:27 PM) First of all, Congrats 4 ur results! Regarding 3.1, im not sure about kabir bcoz never attended his class b4. Summore, i heard that he taught finance paper last time and how come he went to teach audit? Thanks for your reply. I went for Mr Philip Woo class for the dec 06 sitting. IMO, i thk he taught very well. His class is never boring although it takes long strech of time from day to night. He always give explaination in a practical way rather than text-book theory explaination. Also, he got teach some FRS that are important for paper 3.1, which i heard are not done by many 3.1 lecturers. About theory, he doesnt teach all as he will only touch on important areas for exam. The remaining part is up 2 ur individual effort.... Alternatively, u may try ms sheila from McOrange la....heard from my friend she's not bad.... Kasturi is the one opposite CM rite? Anyway, how good is Mr Pang for 3.3? I very much prefer to have my classes in the same college/school so that I dont need to try to match the timetable, especially during the intensive revision period. |

Hello ppl,
Just got my results today (got 50 for one of my subjects QUOTE Professional Level - Essentials (P1-P3) P1 Professional Accountant(N/A) Sheila (McO) Philip Woo (KSA) BTW, the latest timetable from KSA states that the lecturers for P1 are Parminder, Viknes, Jackson Chan and Phillip Woo. P2 Corporate Reporting CR(3.6) Haneef (McO) Ms Menon (Sunway) Joe Fang (KSA) P3 Business Analysis BA(3.5) Michael (McO) Parminder (KSA) Wong Siew Choo (FTMS) Martin (FTMS) *RI only I'm planning to take all three papers (P1 - P3) this December and based from past experience, it's way easier if I took all the subjects from the same place to avoid clashes especially during the IR sessions which is very precious to me. From the list above, there's basically two places I can consider, KSA or MC Orange. If I were to take all 3 subjects from one of these places, which one would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance. |
