Sunway got revision class, but only to those who have register full-time..
Erm, have u tried Kolej Bandar ? It's situated right in the middle of Petaling Street. The price is affordable and the lecturers are quite good too.
*
sunway have revision la (we call it edc - exam driven course) for sunway students for BOTH full time & part time la. once u pay for their classes, revision is included as well.

Hello everyone,
Newbies here, and also attempt my first ACCA exam last June 07, unfortunately failed at at marks for paper 2.3-MYR Tax..sigh..

anyway, need comments and guidance from you all,
currently i'm self study for ACCA (due to the auditors' heavy working schedule and frequent outstation, makes me unable to attach to class)

i'm only attended Mr.Chin Ann's class last june07, and failed!

however, i wish to take this paper again...any recommend study material? (i'm not sure about whether there are changes to the new syllabus for this 2.3 or not...pls advise me as well)

and reading from the posts here, noted that Chong Kwai Fatt is teaching in Segi? is that true??? which Segi he is now teaching at??

i think im only able to go for intensive/revision class this round again...pls advise me to which lecturer shd i go to...and i wish to pass this round....thank god!!
thank you...hope to see replies very soon!!! *muackss*
*
not changes in syllabus that you should be worry about, but changes in public rulings irb always have time to time and also tax law surely examine. changes in tax law effect the syllabus, ie, i heard there is no more RPGT in F6 coz it has been temporarily not applicable in mys.

i recommend you to take mr simons class in sunway. i love his notes! he summarize everything in a very student friendly way, that it is possible for you to remember those tedious things to remember.
kwai fatt's textbook is good but very long winded la. honestly, i never use his textbook when i was in Simon's class and i pass! i rely 100% on Simon's teaching. you'll pass provided you never skip his class la!!

but i think now too late to enroll in sunway, maybe u can try talk to admin. good luck

but my mom took diploma in accounting instead of CAT wor.. which one better? coz my fren say after CAT cannot work.. but after diploma in accounting can start work to gain experience wor.. at least as an accounts clerk lor...
*
i had a diploma from local public uni, then i continue acca. during sam break, i gatal2 look for job, get an offer in audit firm in for basic salary 1300 as account assistant. not bad le.

cat is just a cert, ppl that take cat have in mind to pursue acca after dat, if your mum dont think she want to take acca, diploma is slightly better, it all depends on what u want le.

may i recommend yr mum to take degree after that. me study full time, no kids, only pet cats also think acca is really hard and 6 mths to study is not enough. plus degree, your result based on breakdowns of assignments, progress tess and final. sometime, before u seat final, base on yr assignments and stuff thru out sam, u know u'll pass or not.

edit : double post

*
accamail subscription? never heard of that before. if u a registered acca student, any updates like talks or workshops, they will inform you as well as student accountant. i never subscribe any mailing stuffs.

acca exam papers : http://www.accaglobal.com/students/study_e...ca_choose/acca/
seems like only pilot papers are available since we in new syllabus. may i recommend you to get the revision book if you need previous syllabus papers if related

ftc revision/ textbooks better than bpp, is it?

actually most of the questions in revision kits are acca past years, they compile and arrange it according to chapters.

Added on October 10, 2007, 5:57 pmi term of textbooks, i prefer notes done my lecturers in tuition centers. i dont use textbook at all. i guess lecturers notes is more 'student friendly'

excuse me, may i know when is the F8 revision class of Sheila? is it over?
*
one of my friend's friend registered for F8 revision with sheila in mcorange, unfortunately that class clashes with other revision class, so those who cant make it to mcorange revision since it is always full, u can take her place, she selling it for rm250 on 13th to 15th. preferable a girl to take her place la, since the class registered under her name. u can pm me if interested

Re : Part time course? Any Good Recommend 1?
*
acca finals on june & dec. can start enroll classes on jan for june exam or july for dec exam. one sem is about 6mths. some crazy ppl enroll class after the result being release which is about 3 mths before final, but not advisable unless you re-seat

whole course for 14 papers, say u take 3 per sam, so about 2 1/2 years but take note there is high percentile of failure. average papers only 30%-45% student pass. some killer papers like finance p4 or adv tax can reach lower than 30% passing rate in malaysia.

""Examiner's approach to Paper F6 (UK) by David Harrowven; December 2006"" so the tips in for UK tax

nowdays tax papers, theory is abt 60-65% so u have to focus on theories. during my sitting of 2.3, which is not too long ago, bloody hell, sales & service tax, rpgt all theories.

every tom, dic & harry can calculate anything if u teach them the format, but not all can explain why they calculate in such a way based on tax understanding. i guess that is what the examiner is concern abt. go figure

r u doing p2 or 2.5??
examiners answers not that good la. cashflows no t acc, answers not suitable for marks allocated. quite confusing. menon ask us not to refer some of examiners answers.
go to menon's class. she explain the standards like singing a song. better bring recorder, helps a lot esp when she go very fast and also toward the end of the day, when brain get exhausted, i listen to her explanation again helps a lot!

samsung 1gb is rm280.
giant also got some less than rm200 but i dont know how much memory they have.

p2 we have a lot of theories, she dont let us copy, ask us to listen and understand. but u know how la, after 5 minutes, i remember nothing. tired la. 9 hrs non stop for 4 days. i also listen to her while driving. menon menon menon everywhere rclxub.gif
