arghhh....i only managed to pass 2.5 (54m). 2.6, 3.2 and 3.3 all failed. mayb becoz i had make provision to fail all...so i'm quite happy that i've passed 2.5. at least i don have to defer my P2 to next sitting. now i can take F8, P1 and P2. rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(HBK @ Aug 20 2007, 08:17 PM)
Now i realise what they meant by ANYTHING POSSIBLE..
i did badly for my 2.5..as other were saying that paper was so different and difficult...and my answer booklet has many blank pages especially question 5 &2...after view my result.. my 2.5 i managed to bang 58...honestly i don know what the marker are marking or checking..there was nothing to mark actually..i even have allocate class for that paper..but now,dun hv to icon_idea.gif also my 3.4 i managed to squeeze in into the pass list.. my i fail my 2.6.. but tat doesnt stop me coz what i experience in 2.5...anything is possible..we have to study and study..dun lose hope!! rclxms.gif  in the words of Parmindar... THANK GOD!! thumbup.gif
*
YEAH. SAME TO ME!!! i ledi expect to fail this paper since cash flow statement was not asked. i just talked craps in the theory questions and Q1 i got negative goodwill!! laugh.gif but who knows...i passed it!! somemore 54 marks...really out of my expectation...maybe bcoz the paper is hard so they mark up the marks. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(HBK @ Aug 20 2007, 10:01 PM)

Hello ppl,

Just got my results today (got 50 for one of my subjects  sweat.gif ), and now choosing on where I'm going to take my classes from for the next semester. Taken from the recommended list of lecturers from first page:
I'm planning to take all three papers (P1 - P3) this December and based from past experience, it's way easier if I took all the subjects from the same place to avoid clashes especially during the IR sessions which is very precious to me.

From the list above, there's basically two places I can consider, KSA or MC Orange. If I were to take all 3 subjects from one of these places, which one would you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance.
*
take P1 & P2 at Mc Orange fulltime. P3 at KSA Parmindar fulltime. normal class no clash at all. IRC not sure yet cause KSA IRC timetable not out yet.

QUOTE(HBK @ Aug 21 2007, 01:56 AM)
Now the next step is to proceed with exisiting class..and try to find a class for my F8..really,is there any difference between 2.6 and F8?? coz im lil bit curious bout the "assurance" part which are in 3.1..
Congrats for those pass their paper..remember Thank God...thats what i learn from Parmindar..He's The best, I TRUST HIM TO DELIVER excellent P3..Thank You Sir!!i pass my 3.4!!now proceed to P3 2nd term wit parmindar thumbup.gif ,.. drool.gif

I was even thinking of not going for the paper on the day of the exam...but nowww I'm soooooo GLAD tht i went for it anyway!! And erm honestly i only aswered 3 Questions instead of 4! haha... thank god for groups notworthy.gif

Passed all 3 papers... happy to progress forward smile.gif

From wat i've heard.. Hannef's teaching style involve alot of double entries.. dats how Ms.menon from sunway teaches too.. But Joe Fang's teaching style is using Journal entry... so u dont have to remember all the debit&credit.

But its really upto you la, whichever you prefer. Heard both lecturers are pretty good smile.gif

Added on August 21, 2007, 8:33 pm

I recommend Chan Tze Kang (McOrange) thumbup.gif ..I've said this so many times..Ppl are gonna think i doing promo for CTK tongue.gif Anyhow I've attended both Chow Kim Tai(FTMS) and Chan Tze Kang (McO) ...Both good lecturers but Chow Kim Tai focus too much on calculation when the paper actually has alooooooootttttt to do with theory and writting... Chan Tze Kang very good at tht.. Explains everything very well and teaches you how to write also.. So I prefer Chan tze kang  biggrin.gif
*
second that. i always think that Chan Tze Kang is a great lecturer as he explains the theories in a very logical manner. his method of doing calculation questions is very effective and easy to remember too. mind you for management accounting paper, theories are equally or more important than calculations. He is teaching F9 (2.4) and P5 (3.3) both fulltime and partime at Mc Orange. if you are to join 2nd term, Mc Orange provides 4 bridging classes too so that you won't miss too much. smile.gif

QUOTE(Xyn @ Aug 22 2007, 12:55 PM)
As I reading your opinion here, surely u r attending classes @ McO.
Then I know we are classmates..

So, are u taking full time or part time?
*
Me and Gary are classmates in P1 and P2 class. interested to meet up? smile.gif

can i ask taking p1 or p3 or p4, p5, p6, p7
which one is the easiest?
i wanna self study from text books for exams actually which is the most easy to pass???
*
in my opinion none of them is easy if you do not study. but if you do study...then P5 might be a good paper to attempt provided you are interested in management accounting and understand the concepts behind it. mind you, speed is everything in P5 because this paper is never meant to be completed within 3 hours. sweat.gif

in my case, i was able to do ALL the questions in 3.3 last sitting but yet time did not allow me to do so and eventually i got 44 only. so, consistent practises are needed in order to pass this paper.cry.gif

Added on August 24, 2007, 6:48 pmi've got 6 papers remaining. not too far away from graduation i suppose. so my plan would be:

December 07 - F8, P1, P2

June 08- P3, P5, P6

I hope i can really do it this time. Drag too long already. Keep on failing and failing. Must boost my self to maximum this time round. Guys and girls, bless me...i really damn semangat want to become affiliate within 1 year!!

hi..

i've heard that accounting graduates from some public universities were accredited by ACCA. one uni that i know is universiti malaysia sabah. these students were exempted from taking the early stages. meaning, they only require them to do the final stage papers.is there such things? or a friend of mine just pull an August Fool on me? hmm.gif [attachmentid=283863]
*
it might be possible that graduates from university are awarded exemption for Part 1 and Part 2. but there is definitely no exemption for Part 3 itself. smile.gif

ACCA has been sucks in providing students support this time round. the online server has been sucks and ACCA malaysia hotline never got ppl picking up. guess what...it takes my gf nearly 3 months to process her registration. we were so worry that she cant enter for exam in December.

bear with them...maybe the students taking ACCA are really increasing significantly this time round.

hi wanna ask what is the meaning of contingent liability?
blur here
study till i dunno wat i am actually studyin already ....
*
it means a possible (<50% chance) liability which you can't provide provision and can't be recognised in balance sheet. it should only be disclosed in the financial statement.

there are 3 criterias in order to provide a provision for liability, which are:
1. probable (>50% chance)
2. there's an obligation as a result of past events
3. amount to be incurred can be measure reliably

if any of the 3 criterias cannot be satisfied, then it's a contingent liability.

IM BACK.. flex.gif  after a long cannot reply nor msg through lowyat (for which reason i dun know why?)a message appear "you dont have authorise to reply to that discussion etc.." previously using the nick HBK..
nyway, just finish F8.. ohmy.gif  really its halfly a surprise.. purchase, stock, going concern came out..and what???ACCA code of conduct..but enuf to answered it coz currently study for P1..so lil bit of knowledge...then there is last question..no.5 where ask about additional procedure for depreciation..
but it seems this round is fair, hopefully the marker doesnt strict much..the easy the paper, the more stricter the marking scheme..yet i think F8 is easy a bit..thats what worried me..Conclusion.. F8 is FULL OF PROCEDURES!! rclxub.gif
hopefully i can fulfil my dream of passing and make low chin ann proud too rclxms.gif  next P1&P3!!
*
F8 was pretty fair this sitting compared to previous sittings. i can't believe Alan would asked on ACCA Code of Ethics and Conducts fundamental principles laugh.gif

my effort to spend 1 week on it did not wasted. i'm confident this time can pass with 60marks and above. finally end my struggling with audit. thanks to Low Chin Ann rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif last time attend Sheila 2.6 twice also can't pass...this time attend Chin Ann 2nd term only already can pass. thumbup.gif

please take note that Kolej Bandar timetable and fees structure for next sitting is already out. check it out HERE. i will be registering for P6. hope to see you guys!
