i really need some information on Mr Haneef from McOrange.

1) Which variant will he teach? MYS or INTERNATIONAL

2) What type of lecturer he is? BORING or ACTIVE

thanks in advance for your advice  wink.gif
*
I was his student previously (erm, actly now also still his student), for financial reporting, stream differenc is only the matter of using IAS (INT) or FRS (MYS), so he ll be teaching BOTH MYS n INT stream.. plz take note 'variant' is only applicable to law n tax..

second is a good question.. Well, i ll say very boring class, yet very informative.. HIz class is good, but u must be able to tahan the boringness.. tongue.gif

hi, everyone, i m new here....

i heard from my friend that if still not pass part 2, in this new coming sitting, cannot sit for p1-p3 (core paper) last time, itzit true?

i m quite sad to heard bout that coz i think i will fail my 2.6, so i cannot take p1-p3 tis coming sitting..... cry.gif
*
Many still confuse with the new syllabus paper arrangement ya.?? students are expected to complete module by module.. So, u are required to complete skill (part2) module before able to proceed to essential (core) module.. However, of course u can take F8 (2.6) together with P1-P3 so long that ur other papers in skill module have passed.. dun cry.. biggrin.gif smile.gif

and when is mcorange P3 revision class starting? what date to be specified?
*
For previous old acca syllabus, ftms apply min of 2core papers since they aspect student must complete all 3core in a sitting.. For new syllabus, that minimum paper's rule in ftms does not apply anymore..

i've heard from KSA's Andrew Pang, he confirmed with ACCA that we can do Professional scheme in ANY order, strong enough to assure you? lol ^^

*
err.. u sure with wat ur writing..?? "Professional Scheme" means the whole 14papers of ACCA.. i think u might trying to mean "Professional level" (part 3) rite..?? Anyway, i do not agree.. ACCA has clearly stated that student need to attempt module by module which means it is compulsory to complete essential module (P1-P3) first before reading optional module (P4-P7)..

plz refer to the first post for "preferred lecturers" for each paper.. Financial reporting recommended lecturers are haneef (ksa), joe fang (ksa), and menon (sunway).. comment on haneef, "boring, yet informative"..

guys, i was wondering if i got a lcci cert n wanted to advance to acca. which lv am i exempted? n also bout the LAN subject, wat r the subjects r require to study?

tarc offer acca rite? how do i apply a student loan there?
*
Im afraid LCCI cert does not entitle for any exemption for acca, u need to complete all 14papers in full.. tarc does offer acca, internally handled, by taking their diploma in accounting.. ptptn loan, u ll get it done once u register to tarc..

Another route to be considered:
LCCI cert ---> CAT advanced level (5papers/6mths) ---> ACCA fundamental lvl (F1-F3 exempted)

Hello ppl,

From the list above, there's basically two places I can consider, KSA or MC Orange. If I were to take all 3 subjects from one of these places, which one would you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance.
*
I personally recommend McO as im too taking all my essential papers there..
P1 Sheila is a vry dedicated lecturer, which u ll get bunch of knowledge n worldwide issue in her class..
P2 Haneef is sort of boring, yet informative n good clear detailed explainations..
P3 Michael.. I neva heard of any negative comment on him before from my frens.. with only 15classes, he makes good use of targeting exam question n giving good technique of answering.. after attending first term, i feel like this paper need not much reading, just some good techniques..
Just personal opinion.. all the best in ur takings..

i did know that Mr Chan from McO has schedule that he only start teaching F9 new add in syllabus stuff in 2nd term, which means the first term only teach those old 2.4 stuff.. Anyway, McO offers bridging class (6sessions) to roughly go thru from beginning.. But some said Mr Chan class boring..

QUOTE(uhlaw @ Aug 22 2007, 06:58 AM)

U may appeal.. all the information is in the student accountant magazine, they include the 'admin review request form' evy month at the back.. At page 91/92 of August 2007 issue..

Appealing in acca is not highly recommended unless u really confident with ur written answer or u dun mind throwing 45pound at all.. In most cases, it remains as fail.. 'Rumours' said, "wat the heck? U think acca ll admit their mistake saying they mark wrongly ur papers?" ANyway, u ll neva able to get back ur answer.. Just opinion, decision is with u..

How do you study ? 4 papers not easy to pass.
Which lectures did u attend 2.4 - 3.1. Do u think lectures contribute more or yourself?
*
thanks.. i belief each ppl have their own way/method of studying.. building a good strong foundation since my CAT helps alot in my papers such as 2.4 n 2.5.. i attended:
2.4 --- chow kim tai (ftms)
2.5 --- haneef (segi, currently in mco)
2.6 --- sheila (mco)
3.1 --- sheila (mco)
For me, a good lecturer contributes alot to me, as im a one who focussing on understanding.. of course the best ingredient would be good lecturers plus self-spirit..

my boss keep asking me take tat subject again ..
any tips of passing this subject ? blush.gif
*
thanx.. Erm, dun really has any good tips for 3.1.. i did the passyear papers, realising it neva will repeating the same thing.. it can be same question, yet the way of answering ll be different from one sitting to another.. therz a great meaning when haneef said, "ther is no good learning a question, learn the knowledge in the question".. wat u should know is not the answer, but examiner's way of aspectation in answer.. this is a war of mind, win her (used to be katherine) or u ll loss this paper..
[therz a change of examiner P7, not too sure of his/her new style]

QUOTE(lemontea1014 @ Aug 23 2007, 11:45 PM)
hey, congrates.. very good result... any tips on studying 2.6.. how u answer?... may i know where u study for 2.6? 1st attempt? sorry if ask too many questions.. but really interested about it...
i took only 2.6 last sitting n still fail, feel so so so useless, 3rd attempt d... a sitting b4 i blank so much, get 48, this sitting i write confidently, but 47..... dunno where gone wrong... really really wish this dec will be my final exam...
*
thanx.. yea, all in first attempt.. this is the paper i struggled the most n i think sheila did play a great role to me, especially in her revision class giving me clear guidance n explaination of whole audit process.. haha, such a dedicated lecturer to go all the way to get allan's books (those with her will know wat im saying) n gave us good answering technique for 2.6..

one of the ways that i could suggest to u, not sure have u being tried this.. try to attempt the passyear with the time contraint (3hrs).. im meaning 'attempt' as writing it out in FULL sentence as u would in exam, rather than just reading n simply jot down few answer points as most will do.. It helps to handle ur time contraint, n train urself to be well-planned in exam.. hope it helps.. cheerz.. smile.gif

Hey anyone doing/done the OBU Degree in here? Can you guys share sum Info about it...  icon_question.gif like

Average tuition fee ?
Is it possible for me to join the OBU programme in any of the colleges now?? Or is there a certain Intake for OBU in colleges?
How does the RAP been done?
How do they calculate your aggregate?
How do they class you into honours or 2nd class etc etc??
Do they have an award ceremony in KL for it? or do they just send u the Degree certification thru mail like the ACCA cert???

and any other information u'd like to share will be very veryyyyyyyyyy helpful  notworthy.gif Thanks wub.gif
*
Hi donna..

Let me clear ur doubt.. tuition fee is bout RM900 (for ktms, ksa), RM1700 (mcO), RM2500 (personal mentor), Rm4500 (sunway).. well, price does indicate their quality of mentoring.. aggregate is calculated from average marks (total marks for part 2 n part 1 divided by number of papers), higher than 66 would be first class, n lower would be 2nd class upper, lower, 3rd class.. no ceremony (unless coll offers one), directly send certificate thru mail, just like how acca did..

me myself will be going for OBU starting this dec once finish the exam.. it would probably takes bout 2months.. n if u unheard of it, OBU RAP will change their syllabus in accordance with acca new syllabus, thus their final submission of current syllabus would be april 14th of 2008.. im not too sure how the syllabus changes, but one thing is, the current syllabus would be better..
