then i`m not gonna follow your way..maybe u are genius, i can`t. i thought hearing people lecture the subject, helps.

new syllabus:

we are going to have extra time for reading questions. around 15 minutes extra. so now our time going to be 3.15 hour for each paper.
*
yalo...he genius one...we all shd use back the normal way..haha...

i am using the normal route also..

attend class, study and attend revision.. tongue.gif

15 minutes reading time can make a big change sometime as we can start figuring and planning the answer in the mind,so once start we can try non stop writing...having 15 min to write can change from 48 to 50... brows.gif

POST-MORTEM ON DEC 2006 Sitting(from acca website)

What I noticed here is that the for the core papers, the pass rate is the worse if we compared to previous sittings. This is true especially for 3.5 and 3.6 where both papers has produced pass rate that is lower than 50% for the first time. An early warning for me!
As for 3.1 and 3.2, the papers that i sat last sitting, the pass rate was rather stable as it stays around 30%....

QUOTE(eelin83 @ Feb 24 2007, 11:17 AM)
Hi all,

Happy Chinese New Year. I'm new in ACCA. Just registered in December. Suppose to get exemption for part 1 and 2, however, when I receive my student pack, it states that I'm not exempted for paper 2.3 and 2.5 while the rest of my frens that graduated from the same uni gets full exemption in part 2. May I know wats going on? Anyone has similar problem before or not? Wat must I do now? Can someone pls help me...give some advice on this? Thank you.
*
one of the reason could be ur internal result does not satisfy with the standard of ACCA so in that case u r not granted the exemption for that..

so is it this reason?try check ur grade with ur frens..but if u have doubt on ur exemption, then u can email acca and enquire about it rather than asking here and guessing urself...back to the end,the one who make the final decision is ACCA...

QUOTE(F33L3Lik3Hom3 @ Feb 24 2007, 05:39 PM)
Guys,

How can i get a written confirmation of exemption status from ACCA ?

Pls reply

TQ
*
erm,the best is u apply to acca and exemptions are granted based on ur result as well..

if u jus want to know roughly how many exemptions u can get, then pls check from the website..

after exemptions are granted,u will received confirmation about it... laugh.gif

u really decided to drop ur acca n take up degree.?? Bear in mind, if u haven finish acca in ten years time, all ur effort in acca ll be wasted.. thats the time limit given by acca..

Well, it actly depends on wat degree course n which uni.. u may get some credit with the partial acca qualification, but no one can tell u exactly wher u ll start from till u get the approval exemption from the uni.. Even the uni ll consider of ur acca exam marks before deciding credit for u.. I guess (i meant guess) it ll take one to two years to get ur degree.. Also, some uni (like uni of birmingham) even allow u to do ur master start from acca part 2, but of course requires u to go UK..

Therefore, i advise u to approach directly to the uni n get their confirmation rather than asking anybody else..
*
i also have the same opinion...

and the best is always refer to the college or uni to get confirmation... laugh.gif

anyone received the new student accountant..there explained bout the new syllabus, where i focus on audit and assurance..alan lewin explained quite detail and, notice that he sends a warning to all candidate in new syllabus, yet haha,i think he also warns the current candidate for june07...like me..and includes also the exam board review on specific paper...
*
i got it but haven't got time to read up...

i think it is nice for him to write out some articles to let students know how to pass his paper easier as the passing rate is quite "nice looking" after he become the examniner..

maybe the students haven\t understand and get to his way...so i think is nice at least he tell student wat he want...

so for those who will sit for the 2.6 this time, please read thoroughly... tongue.gif

if u see other college,i think some offer +/- rm100k for masters.
erm..both is diff leh..
but suggest u to take up cima..
cos acca change new syllabus..will be harder to all new intake..
buti think cima is easier cos,u can complete anytime..
acca gotto complete in 10years..or else,u have to start everything again.

cima at starting stage tend to be easier a bit compare to acca i guess...
but maybe not the later stage...esp the top cima...

QUOTE(HBK @ Mar 4 2007, 05:07 PM)
yup,if dun complete 10 yrs, start all over again, but very unlikely to happen that a student hv to start all over again, cuz acca will change its syllabus in that 10 yrs..maybe 5,6yrs..then,they gave u a time to completion another 10yrs so that student wont give up and the yrs continue so on,and thus acca makes the money.. thumbup.gif

jus read the past year ...

QUOTE(Aquariel @ Mar 5 2007, 10:33 PM)
In exam, you don't need to remember the section, just have to remember the right actions/response (what the law says in this situation).

I manage to pass without quoting any sections, maybe one or two (which I doubt it's correct). It's best not to quote any if you are not 100% sure. If you quote a lot and manage to get it correct then Malaysia's 1st is yours lah.  thumbup.gif

You just have to study the past exam papers and summarise it, then you'll be ok.
*
agree...no need quote the section also can pass...i remember last time i also cannot quote many sections and even not able to write the full name of the common case... brows.gif

yes,if u can pass ur acca external exam which u need to start to sit it when u r in adv diploma year 2...then after 4 yrs...u get acca cert...provided u pass all la... tongue.gif

btw, if i have  a degree in accounting from other university, s it i am exempted till part 2 of ACCA? Mean i only have to sit for part 3 ACCA?

it depends....acca give diff uni diff levels of exemptions...

so it does not mean u will get exempted for part 2 for any degree u get...

QUOTE(~~5ive~~ @ Mar 16 2007, 03:50 PM)
then for the 1st & 2nd part of ACCA, only limited to 4papers per sitting. So mean i can only sit for 4 paper per half year? How bout the 3rd part? The 3 core paper can be taken together with the 2 optional paper? or have to take seperately?
*
yes...one sitting u can only sit up to 4 papers..for part 3 the same rule now...
u can sit the core and optional papers together...
