Didn't play ff tactics before, but I think this game is more similar to Disagaea.

Statergy wise, this game revolve around type advantage( rock, paper, scissor), direction advantage ( u get this advantage by standing at the side and back.), co op advantage ( u get this advantage if ur other hero can hit the enemy u target with the other hero 1st skill) and terrain advantage ( the terrain advantage is based on ur hero, and u can get other terrain advantage with equipment)

And for other late game content is more equipment dependant. As all the 4* equipment have some special effect.
