Useful but not essential.

Here's to mess your head more.

1) The Touch ID on SE is the older generation. It isn't as fast as the 6s Touch ID.
2) front facing camera is of lower quality on SE. Back camera is the same. Wonder that
3) battery on SE is much better than 6s (probably smaller screen)
*
Yeah, just when the SE was announced, I was weighing my options between the SE and the 6S and 3D Touch was one of the factor taken into consideration but at the end of the day, I caved in to 6S yesterday XD.

True that 3D Touch isn't a necessity but it's really fun to have it.

I was on 5S previously and I thought 4.7" is just too big but having used the 6S for a day, I find that 4.7" is actually a very comfortable size. Much more comfortable than 4" actually. Typing on the 4.7" is less tedious and the screen size is just very soothing to look at, there's ample space for everything.

Will it be not wise to get a 6s now?
*
It will not be unwise to opt for the 6S now UNLESS you intend to switch immediately when the 7 is announced. if you're on the "S" line then the reasonable life cycle is to upgrade to the next "s" series in line (ie. 7S).

I'm definitely not going for 7... 6s feature is good enough for me right now... i was just thinking to save about $100 because 6s price will drop when 7 is released
*
I don't think the price drop will be effectively immediately because the 7 will not be released in Malaysia anytime soon after the announcement. They will most probably be made available to Malaysia early next year but you have not thought wrong. For Apple, even if there's a discount of RM50.00, it's considered as a very big thing laugh.gif but unless you are looking for the rather common variation (color & capacity) otherwise i fear you may find a hard time looking for it.

At the end of the day, you may end up buying the color and the capacity that you first did not intend to.

Just yesterday, I went over to Epicentre in IOI Mall and they only have 1 16GB Rose Gold left.

I used 3d touch a lot. quite useful for me. It will be little bit tricky to use it for the first time but once you get used to how much pressure you need to apply it will okay
*
set the pressure sensor to "light".

makes the whole experience a lot more .... interactive brows.gif i'm in love with the 3D Touch now... wub.gif

What do you use them for
*
I used them mostly for emails now... compared to previously, I just "swipe to delete" all the emails when I saw the sender isn't relevant. I use them for navigation too.

It isn't necessary but it really gives you that convenience that you didn't knew you needed =)

I'm sure 3D Touch application will grow in the future because I don't think Apple will omit them in their future devices. It will only get better and better. Just like the Touch ID when it was announced, everyone was making fun of it but look how commendable it has become. Touch ID v2 is so fast that unlocking your phone is a breeze and you don't need to sacrifice it by compromising on security =D

Didn't recall people making fun of Touch ID. A lot thought it's a very good idea. 3D touch was being made fun of, that's what I recall.

I think it's a matter of getting use to. 3D touch isn't as "natural" to use like touch screen when it was first introduced, i think it will be a slower uptake until much later...
*
Ah! you probably missed it. People were making tonnes of ridiculous jokes with it laugh.gif i think if you would just do a youtube search, you'll find some.

Hey guys, wanna ask, i bought my iphone 6s plus from machines, recently my dropped my iphone on the road and my lcd glass chipped a little (thank god)

Does this mean i cant claim warranty for other parts anymore? Or is the warranty still intact?

Is there any loophole to claim warranty for the glass? As i recall, apple dont fix the phone but rather give a refurbished set

Thanks
*
You should really get a tempered glass screen protector =P

The only way you can void your iPhone's warranty prematurely is by doing either one of this:-
1) open the enclosure and tempered with the internals; or
2) you accidentally submerged/dropped your iPhone into water.

Either one (1) of the aforesaid causes will void your warranty disabling you from claiming under "manufacturer's defects".

There is no way in hell, Apple is going to entertain you for a warranty claim for a crack display because it's normal wear and tear not due to the manufacturer. You are deemed to have purchased a perfect condition iPhone.

Let me share with you my friend's experience. He went and bought a brand new 5S from Machines and once the unwrapping is done at the centre, he noticed that there was a small bump on the side of the display, creating a small gap between the display and the body. He immediately submit for a claim and guess what, he got a refurbished unit. That pisses him off quite a bit.

So, what he did was paying RM2,199.00 for refurbished unit laugh.gif

the left side of my earpods quieter than the right, it come with my 6s, can I claim warranty for it?
*
don't think so the warranty covers the accessories.

there's one way to find out if it's faultly. go into the balance settings and move the toggle all the way to the left and then to the right. that will be a clearer way to determine if the earpods are in fact problematic.

no warranty wo, not worry?

if the phone doesn't break down for so long it has stand as a display unit, chances are that it won't break down after you have taken it back for personal use =)

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you tried looking at your phones when lying down and facing upwards. When the screen dim, by just tilting the phone abit, the screen brightens up again. Not sure if this is faulty or not. This only happens when i lie down, if im sitting up using the phone as usual, the screen won't brighten up once it dims
*
it's the light proximity sensor.

if you hate it then just turn off "auto-brightness" under Settings.

Yup my auto brightness is turned off. It only happens when i use my phone lying down

if "auto brightness" is turned off, it's unlikely that your illumination will change hmm.gif

try restarting your iPhone after you have turned off the settings and see if it refreshes the "cache".
