Anybody facing yellow tint on their 6 or 6s?

It's okay to buy the phone if its a good deal because some yellow tints are actually more accurate than the "bluish" ones under different lightning. Besides... you can already change how "blue" or "yellow" your iphone screen looks with the new update

And a "cool" tint is not always the accurate one... especially when you see the phones under different lightnings..
Look at this this example..
Which one you prefer?

I prefer a warmer lightning because its more accurate in most lightnings and less strain to the eyes..

Hi guys

Just got my first iphone (6s plus 128gb) from Apple online store last week. When I first switched on the phone to activate it, I instantly realised that the top edge of my phone screen is unevenly lit, and there's some sorta dark band/shadow along the top edge. I went to Machine to check the display units, and found that all of them have the same 'problem' as my phone, except one. I checked with the Machine staff, and was informed that this is bcos my phone is still  new, and I should use and charge it for few times and it will improve gradually. He even showed me the older iphone 6plus on display that the shadow will disappear as repeated charging and use.

After 3 days of using my new iphone, the 'shadow' still remains there. Quite concern, I'd called Apple Care support this morning and spoken to the technician. Was told that might be due to software issues, as I still haven't updated my phone to the last ios 9.3. It's still the same after I updated it to 9.3. Now, the technician advised me to send my phone to the repair centre for a diagnosis, which I'm reluctant since it's just 4-day-old.

As I'm new to iphone, just want to ask whether is it normal for iphone to have such 'shadowy' screen on the top edge? To me it seems that something's not right with the screen, since it looks like that part is unevenly lit. I looked at my old Sony Z1, but the screen color near the top edge is always in dark color, unlike iphone 6s plus that is in white background, so I cant observe if it's also the same.

What the staff in Machine told me, is it true?  But I don't really believe what the staff in Machine told me, since there's one 6splus in display that looks perfectly lit and bright. Should I send my phone to repair centre?

pls help, thanks!

This is a defect.
Unfortunately, if there's no other defects in the phone, I would advice you to keep the phone because my 6S also have an unevenly lit display and after I sent to warranty, I get another replacement(refurbished) phone with same uneven lit display. The majority of display units I see also have this issue
I think there's something wrong with apple display manufacturing.. If you want to try your luck you can...
Just pray that you don't get one with more defects.. (like home button speakers etc)

Omg...  shakehead.gif

Yes, apart from the shadowy issue, the rest of the phone is OK, but I also realised there is a very narrow gap between the screen and the phone's gold casing near the power/sleep button til the curve. You can only see it when you compare closely between 2 sides, but to me that is still acceptable...

Anyway, your replacement is a refurbished phone? The apple technician did offer me few options, send for diagnosis, replacement or refund. I was assured that the replacement will be a new unit though... just that before I can decide or ask further our phone conversation got cut off due to bad reception on my side... So i'm thinking to call again only after I make up my mind.

Yeah I got a replacement phone haha I bought it on Maxis though..

Hmmm if you're getting a replacement phone then why not? hahaa but just don't put your hopes up... My friend did 8 replacements... ALL replacement phones come with uneven screen brightness or dust in camera issue...

Sent in my 6S for warranty claim just now, seems to be have small "burn marks" (black spots) at the top left of the screen, service center refers that as pixel anomalies. Hopefully can get it back before CNY. sad.gif
