Guys

I'm such a klutz sometimes. Just wondering if you guys have any suggestion for good casing available here in Malaysia ? Any suggestions would really helpful. Thanks!
*
there are a lot of types of casing. protective case, slim case, tpu case, folder case. depends on what you want. want personalized cantik case or want protection. u can find a lot of choices in the mobile accessories trade zone. i personally bought many cases from this seller sakurazz, particularly ringke fusion. decent protection, doesnt hide the phone. but some may complaint it looks cheap.

Hi guys,

Want to ask about the back of the box.
I got my 6s from lazada. Claimed MY set.

Just want to ask at the back  all the malay words and info was printed on a sticker paper and pasted onto the back of the box.

Is this similar to you guys' boxes?
Or its printed on the box itself?

Thanks
*

guys.. need help.. im using 6s plus 128gb on ios 9.2.1...
i have an issue with my storage.. I've maxed out my storage a couple of days ago.. so I've deleted some videos and apps, giving myself about 5gb of extra storage. the problem is, i keep getting the storage full message, then I'll delete more videos, and now after 3 days of deleting my personal stuffs I'm still getting storage full message. any idea what else to do apart from deleting my stuff? i believe I've deleted close to 10gb till now. then there's a peculiar thing i noticed, after i restart the phone, i have about 700+ mb memory.

I've cleaned it using various methods. microfiber, cd cleaning tool, sellotape.. its still there, INSIDE the screen. should be able to claim warranty right?

Hi guys just wanna share an issue i highlighted previous regarding iPhone warranty. I have checked with QCD service centre in Berjaya Times Square and Mac City service centre in 1 Utama. Both have confirmed that iPhone warranty is not limited to the country you bought the phone but rather to the part number of the phone itself. In other words, u can provide them ur iPhone serial number for them to check in their system (not the warranty check from apple website). If the part number is available in Malaysia, means the warranty is covered here. To prove this point, I have successfully claimed warranty and was given a replacement phone for an iPhone 6s Plus that was bought from Apple Store in US. I hope TS can update regarding this warranty. To be safe, of course it's better to buy from Malaysia. but we should debunk the myth that iPhone warranty is limited to the country it's bought. Not anywhere was it written in their T&C. Those early adopters can quite safely be assured buying from SG or US Apple Store sets.

AND i have checked with Apple themselves through their recent twitter support team. Their iPhone warranty are global.

you probably didn't even read the UELA.

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

*
you didn't read what you copy and pasted. it says 'MAY restrict'. hence my point in the post that says coz our service center CLEARLY accepts some device, eg. from SG, HK, US (apple store only), which u CAN check with them using the IMEI or SN.

unlocked. for US sets they said ONLY iPhone bought from apple store or online apple store is accepted. phone shipped from carrier (locked) isn't.

you obviously doesn't understand the meaning of 'may restrict' and confidently said it is worldwide warranty which is obviously not. And all we are hearing is word from you, without any proof to substantiate it.
*
don't so butthurt la miss. read their whole t&c la. different country have different law. and different country also may be shipped with different set (eg. locked iPhone). so they have to use general statement like that. they say they MAY restrict warranty. they didn't state they most definitely, without doubt, not in a million years will not cover warranty for products purchased from other country. since the term they used was questionable and not definite ('may'), so I'm sharing to those early adopters who bought from other country or those who worked/studied abroad who bought their phones there, u can freely check with our service centre if your device warranty is accepted here, as how i manage to claim my US bought set. lastly, am just here to share my experience, to assist/reassure those with overseas set u MAY check if your device warranty is covered here.

edit: the final word is of course from apple malaysia service centre.. depending on their deal with apple and our consumer law here. since it would be difficult for them to clearly state which devices are eligible for claim, i think that's why it's easier for the customer themselves to check with them to avoid confusion.

Apple has change the stance a little since the part number/model of the iPhone is more consistent around the world. Many have tried and successfully got warranty from Apple stores. I think Apple can't publish "international warranty" without certain caveats cause knowing consumers will just get confused and not read everything in the same context besides "international warranty".

the challenge isn't the same like ipod, MacBooks which is all the same components. Even iPad, my friends was able to claim warranty but not those with the non-wifi versions.

But what is for certain, you buy MY set. Singapore using the same model/part number, they can help to service it also.
*
Yup totally agree. I understand they can't simply use the term global/worldwide/international warranty due to certain limitation. Similarly, they also didn't state their warranties are totally restricted. Just wanna share to those who have foreign sets that u do have a chance of claiming warranty here if the part number is supported in Malaysia rather than giving the idea that they strictly cannot.

how big a difference between 1 GB and 2 GB ram for you guys? why is it important or not for you personally?
*
what is definite, 2GB is always better than 1GB.
as apps and iOS itself are always updated and growing in terms of function, memory size and requirements, moving towards 2GB is a late but needed move.

coming from iPhone 6 to 6s... things are definitely speedier and snappier for me. if u are someone who juggles through many apps at a time, u will definitely appreciate the 'extra space' of ram.

Coming from 6 to 6S, I would say the camera for both were largely the same. It was bumped from 8MP to 13MP
If you view the photo from your mobile devices, then the quality are pretty similar. If you view it from a larger screen eg. PC or for printout then the higher res. is much better of course.
And I really like the Live Photos. Excellent for taking short video for moving object.
*
yes i second this. u get a bump in size (megapixel), however the camera 'quality' is not much difference, if not slightly less than 6..

haha. if ur not an apple hardcore fanboy or tech junkie, then ya i agree, wait for the 7. it's not gonna improve ur productivity or usage much.
but the machines promo they had recently was quite a bargain.. upgrading an iPhone is all about timing. when is the right time to sell off the old one at a good price to buy the new one at a good price also.

I have Us set iphone. if i wanna try claim warranty let say because headphone jack not functioning, where can i send it? QCD in berjaya or any machine branch can accept?
*
first, call them up. I'm not sure which is the main centre. i know mac city 1 utama is the main service centre for mac city. similarly qcd berjaya says they're also a main centre. i think they're under different companies. whatever it is, call them to find out whether your phone warranty is supported or not. they will check in their system if the paet number is available here in M'sia, then it should be accepted. i called qcd bts and mac city 1u. u can try these 2.

For those using 6s plus, is it abit too heavy to be used one handed? I know 6 plus is already quite hefty and 6s plus is another 20g heavier.
*
depends on how big your hand is.. also depends on how big you're 'used too' (some ppl even use 7-8" tablets as their phones).. it's a matter of personal comfort and convenience, so what's heavy or huge for everyone else may not be the same for u, and vice versa. I was using a 6 before, then i bought the 6s plus. I enjoyed the bigger, sharper, full HD screen. typing was never easy, coz it's almost impossible to type long messages with one hand. but i enjoyed it because of the bigger screen. but after 5 months, i decided to go back to a smaller 6s. it's more pocket friendly, typing is a breeze, and everything could be done with one hand. but i do miss the bigger screen and most importantly the OIS. I hope the 'smaller' iPhone 7 comes with full hd and ois just as it's bigger 7 plus (if Apple remains with this 2 size marketing)

if u already think 6 plus is hefty, then it most likely is for u.

Thanks for the feedbacks. I'm actually now torn between going from 6S to either 6 plus or 6S plus.
Like I said, i've used 6 plus before and find it abit cumbersome at times. But the extra screen and battery sure makes up for that (or also due to the same reason iit's cumbersome in the first place)

Budget is not an issue  blush.gif  so I can go for either 6 plus or 6S plus. The thing bothering me is if it's worth the 1k upgrade now (already into the annual iphone mid cycle release) and the extra weight which in most online sites are saying it's the heaviest phone in it's class (5.5")

Of the incremental upgrade for the S model
- Live Photo - Good to have
- 3D touch - Like one of you have pointed out, don't even notice it's there most time
- 2G RAM - Think it's faster for multi taskings or apps loading. In-app experience and speed would be mostly the same
- Siri always on - I kinda use this alot these days especially driving smile.gif
*
ic... if you've already decided to go for the plus model, and ur already using a 6s at the moment, then the phone ur looking for is 6s plus (since budget isn't an issue). remember, the only thing that's changed is everything!! it's more sturdy (6 plus may succumb to the bendgate issue), and the most important factor is it's faster! newer processor coupled with bigger ram, what other reason do u need.

don't worry about value drop when the 7 comes out.. it's bound to happen, it WILL drop a certain % for the 6s, but it will drop even more for the 6. u still have 7 months to enjoy the phone before the new one comes out. and when the 7 comes out, together with iOS 10... the 6 is gonna lag even more. long story cut short, if money isn't an issue, better upgrade.

Seriously, do you really think it's faster? Coming from 6 & 6 plus to 6s, don't really feel it's much faster other than the multi taskings and apps loading.
*
when upgrading of course we feel all those claimed speed improvements as 'marginal'. remember using the first or earlier iPhones and felt how fast they were, wondering how much faster could smartphones really be? try downgrading, maybe then u will realize what u've missed. also, even if the whole world tells u the 6s is faster, with technical and real usage proof, but if you're contented with 6, why bother asking, just get what u think is worth.

checkout THIS comparison video.. the main reason i upgraded..
