just my opinion but if you are looking for quality then USB would be a wrong choice
XLR is definitely the way to go

Usb mics tend to be more expensive while having lower quality

Instead of buying a 500 mic why not get a 300 mic and a 300 interface?

My suggestions would be the audio technica at2020, samson C01 or C03
My interface suggestion would be a focusrite solo

You can find an at2020 new for around 390 and used for maybe 250 to 300
The focusrite should cost 300 if the seller is reasonable

Dont go for cheapo interfaces like the m audio fast track and others like it because they are quite useless
