I plan to change to a CD player on my car, but i really worry about the workmanship of those car accessory shop because last time my car was kena break in and my cd player was steal by the stupid theif, and i ask the worker to install back the original Clarion Cassettee player, then not so long after my car wiring kena burn and short...!
and i notice that most car accessory guy they just cut then wire and use the black tap to connect to the player only. so i would like to know is there any plug and play connector? because most diff brand player are not in the same connector i believe.

still have to cut and connect using the black tape unless you are buying the original/stock cd player.
no worries actually because its quite safe to do that. I did my HU installation myself using the black tape after cutting off the wires.
the only reason i could think of why your wires burnt because of shoddy workmanship by the accessory shop. dun go there again.

the connector only connects to the HU.....
but what connect to the connector.....its the wires lah......so this one is manual fixing.....one wire connect to the other one on the connector.....then the connector head goes into your new HU
so to your question....yes and no.
yes....different brand different connector no......no need to to worry as whatever connector it is, manual wire connection is still needed
