 Unable to receive TAC sms to my Hotlink number

I recently purchased a sim card from XOX Mobile that allows porting from my current Hotlink number. When I tried to verify it online, I wasn't able to receive the TAC code sms that is required to complete the verification.

I called XOX about this, and they informed me that they have sent the code but my telco ( Hotlink) is not routing it to my phone. I can receive any other SMS just fine ( e.g. from friends, Maxis, Whatsapp, Wechat, my bank) just not the TAC code from XOX.

Can anyone from Maxis guide me through this problem? Thank you very much.

Hi hassan1990,

Are you trying to receive the TAC code with existing SIM card (XOX) or new SIM card? Did you check on the blocking/blacklist setting in your device?

Hi, I am trying to receive it with my existing, Hotlink sim card. My XOX simcard has not been verified yet and cannot be used until the porting process is completed.

There no numbers in the block list, and I can receive SMS from every other persons or company. I just cannot receive this particular SMS for the TAC code, from XOX mobile.

The XOX website keep saying "The TAC code has been sent" when I try to verify my sim card online, but I don't receive any such SMS on my phone.

Can you check with XOX from which 5 digit number they are sending for us to check further? As initial checking there is no issues with your account. TQ

Dear Hotlink.


I purchased a Hotlink FAST pre-paid on 24th June.

I tried to verify the number on the uber app with the hotlink number, but i am unable to receive the verification sms from uber.



kindly advice what went wrong or what should i be doing?

my number is in the following format +60 011 12xx xxx3

 

Change to:
