If really 3.5, lots of people will buy the USD. I would for one.

If it reach 5 in 5 years time, I would not care. But this year 5, lots of people who need to buy it will suffer.

Those dreaming of US education will be rather sad. Right now, some students have been saying they are happy that USD has eased.

Planning for US education will be at least 1 to 2 years timing before going there.

So those that plan for their kid to US last year's one got a big shock as it was 3.2 to 3.6 level, then shot up to 4.4 level, >20%. Quite a lot of dough involved ! At 4.4 to 4.5 level those planning their kid (on shoe string budget) going overseas 2016/2017 must have been thinking twice.

But you are right that the parents have to be prepared for the currency swing, BUT to certain percentage depending on their budget !

Thats why it is better to have a stable currency ! No worries !

Stop calling me rich man la. There are people much richer than me here and hiding ........... U could be one of them.

Anyway just cost of education, so not actual loss in a sense.

Now aiming for 3.5 to 3.8 to buy n keep.

I was in stock, UT and options before. Still holding some US, local stocks and UT.

Out of options years ago, loss big time !

I think it all depends on ourselves !

Haha, diversify is the key. U guys heard me more on FD. But I was hoping to get more returns from UT and stocks. Still have substantial amount in there esp UT.

The UT goes up & down, up & down. Nothing much to talk about. Leave it to the related companies to manage esp Public Mutual. FD is something that is more certain with gifts to share with all. Stocks wise, thinking of taking loss esp local market but keeping some blue chips. US stocks still there. Options, a bit itchy now, but still really cautious after the big loss (few 6 digits ).

RM strengthen.

Now taking as fun to watch it as there is a need to buy RM. Anyway lets see how RM runs !

I think 3.6to 3.8 region I may buy some and keep in foreign currency acct.
