QUOTE(TSOM @ Feb 7 2016, 07:21 AM) wah!! What did you do from 6.15 until 11.30am?? Just stand there and waste time?? lol ya , actually the queue didnt look that bad when we arrived, i predicted 2-3 hours max. dono what happen until we got served quite late. they should issue numbering system like in banks... probably because we were in a group of 5, and they keep ushering single diners to eat first, even when they are behind us during queue our feets so sore + body aches, until we scrap all the plans after market n go home rest our timeline that morning, 04:00 arrived the market 04:05 received our vest, we were around number 70+ , so we got assigned to the 2nd tour of the auction session, 1st tour 5.25am, 2nd tour 5.45am 05:45 after waiting for almost 2 hours we finally head for the tuna auction halls 05:55 arrived the auction hall, waited for 5minutes for it to start, man yells for 3 mins, and it ended 06:05 made our way to sushi dai 06:15 arrived sushi dai and got in queue, already got 2 rows there when we arrived 11:30 got in and ate 11:55 finished, and went home it was 3 degrees in the morning when we queue, sun came up around 7:30, and the temperature increased a little to around 9-10 degrees(thank god). our breakfast became lunch 4,000 yen for Omakase course, 10 sushi + 1 of your choice, + 1 sushi roll, + 1 tamago + 1 miso soup + 1 hot green tea. my friend joke and said, sushi dai's trick is to make everyone tired and hungry, once u enter with hungry stomach and eat theirs, it will taste like heaven MY experience: the tuna auction is a waste of time, maybe have to go extra early to take the 1st session instead, coz we barely see anything so if you wanna go to sushi dai, pls go direct there b4 it opens, so ur max waiting time also 1 hour only. I hesitated a very long time whether to see the tuna auction, but since its going to relocate end of the year, might as well see it for the last time in Tsukiji This post has been edited by AeronBabe: Feb 7 2016, 04:46 PM |

QUOTE(TSOM @ Feb 7 2016, 12:35 PM) end of the year, means now it's already not there lah?? End of the year, now only begining of the year la haha. Nov 2016 relocate last i read. and must follow guided tour?? and 4am in the morning, got subway running meh?? The tour is just wearing their safety vest n they escort you to the auction area. Then you go in a tiny corridor ,and watch the people auction tuna right infront of you. My session lasted very short, they auctioned quite fast. So we felt it was a waste of time. We took a cab , stayed about 25minutes WALK away, charged us less than 1500yen per cab. Divide divide lah . I downloaded a tokyo taxi app 5minutes before we left ,because we thought we were going to walk there, ended up very lazy after waking up hhaha. U just need to pinpoint where u are on the map, cab come in 5minutes. Charges u 400 yen extra |

QUOTE(Lingthau @ Feb 25 2016, 08:17 PM) I eventually forgo all my city hopping plans during this golden week. I will be travelling with mother, wife and 2 kids. Now, I will only stay in Tokyo the entire 10 days. Disneyland , i went 1 day, completed 85% of the park.. u sure u need so long? 26 April to 29 April - Disneyland 30 April - Surrounding Tsukiji market and Shinjuku (Plan to buy Hakone travel pass in Shinjuku) 1 May - Hakone 2 May - Yokohama (themepark+zoo) 3 May to 5 May - Other places in Tokyo Will only be staying in 2 places throughout my stay - Disneyland and Grand Palace Hotel Tokyo. Interestingly, I found that Grand Palace Hotel Tokyo offer 35% discount for bookings more than 3 consecutive nights. Unfortunately, due to first time using Expedia, I unknowingly clicked pay now and amount had been charged to my cc. Anyway of getting cheaper 3-day Disneyland pass than the price advertised in Disneyland website? imo think 2 days is enough unless you take disneysea in account too |

QUOTE(Alex Yow @ Feb 26 2016, 06:59 PM) Hi just wanna ask some comment for this 2 hotel... Sakura hotel hatagaya and Palace studio shinjuku parkside which better and near to tourist spot? both location not far apart, but for me i prefer palace studio shinjuku parkside, because of the subway near it. Easier to get to tourist spots with less transfers..It was difficult for me to understand the location and transportation before i went japan, but after staying there 1 month, i understand more , and next trip should be easier to plan stuff . RC was rite, 1st time travel to Japan take it as regret trip. Then plan better for next one |

Just wanna share my experience in Jan that day.
Went to skii resort at Yuzawa prince hotel. Upon arrival, me n my (5) friends walked to the lobby, then was admiring the paintings on da wall, while my friend checked us in. Then my gf saw under my shoe got some paper, when i lifted, it was a stack of japanese yen. 10,000 yen x7 pcs. I asked all my friends whether they dropped their money, none said yes. Completely didnt do any thinking, we directly go to receptionist n return the 70k yen. after we go in our room, think think. feel abit regret or not. No regret not human Next day we checked to see anyone claimed the money, they say a bus driver came to claim it last night shortly after we returned it. 5 days after that we went to Fuji Q highlands, my gf lost her iphone6s in the park. (we actually didnt knew it was left in the park, because we went alot places after that only realize her phone missing). After searching all the places, only go back to the themepark, as it was our first destination at Fuji. Luckily the information center said they found it. We still had to verify that is her phone. I guess i now believe in karma *edit: next morning, my friend found 12k yen in his rented trouser pocket when we went to rent gears for skiing for the day. this time he belanja us makan lunch with it, hotel food expensive This post has been edited by AeronBabe: Feb 28 2016, 01:16 AM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Feb 28 2016, 01:32 AM) Your friends should give back that 12k Yen. Shame on your friend. Japanese won't steal anything even is very expensive thing. Their moral level was very high and well educated since pre-school. They been teach found anything not belong must return to lost and found section. I been at Japan more than 12 years. Lost 6 - 8 times Wallet , over 20 times on Phone. Always can get back. So far lost rate 0% Mall , Airport , Themepark , Restaurant , garden QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Feb 28 2016, 12:07 PM) shame on your so called frendz u guys need cut some slack, if i were u, i already unfrendz them mempersialsuikan msian, pui!~ the food u all ate, i hope there is karma waiting for u guyz we are not raised japanese, so i cant judge our moral as japanese ppl. (eventho we returned the 70k) if found stack of ringgit on road in malaysia, i wonder how many will return to balai |

QUOTE(deejay220989 @ Feb 28 2016, 07:17 PM) The dilemma I'm having is should I proceed to Tokyo since I can't experience the autumn leaves and then next trip only come back to Kyoto Osaka during autumn. i first time go Japan, 26 days. I wanted to do Osaka - Tokyo - Hokkaido, but too cramp, n in d end threw Hokkaido. (really thank god I threw that away)So I guess you're saying Kyoto Osaka should still be ok without autumn? you mention u booked ur tix to KIX already, return or 1 way? If return then I strongly suggest u put Tokyo for another trip, unless you dont plan to come back Japan again. i like Osaka more compared to Tokyo. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « wah first time see Rc talk so polite after shoot ppl but u are right on the bolded part. really thankful i read from v1 page 1 till v8 pg 2x bfore i flew, took me almost 1 month to finish all version, as in every single reply i also read, on every page. 95% of my itinerary constructed from scratch based on this thread but i learnt one big lesson of flying with AA, next time i wont use AA.. that time Mas was RM1,500(all in;luggage 30kg,insurance,tax) for return ticket. and AA was KL > Osaka (RM399) Haneda > KL (RM399) But considered the extras I paid : KL > Osaka (Total extra 173) -Quiet zone RM69 -Luggage (brought light luggage,n shared weight with friends, so RM44) -Insurance RM30 -Snacks on plane RM30+/- Haneda > KL (Total extra 582) -Quiet Zone RM159 (more exp than KL>JPN) -Insurance RM76 (more exp too) -Luggage RM297 (40kg) -Meal n snacks on plane RM50 Total damage 399+399+173+582 = RM1553 unless u takeaway what u need from my list, then u can get it cheaper, but for me, i neeeeeeeeed those add : one good thing i love about airbnb, all 7 of the airbnb house i stayed provided me with pocket wifi, so my whole trip covered with free wifi ,bring a power bank, as it only last 4-6hrs This post has been edited by AeronBabe: Mar 3 2016, 05:05 PM |
