Japanese are Holiday too.
Transportation will be fully booked. Almost impossible for you if plan to City Hopping.
Onsen Village area such as Hakone will be very crowded.
Hotel price will twice expensive.

unless traveler focus in tokyo only

1st time to Hokkaido? Then seafood was ok. Most people go Hokkaido for seafood. If go Hokkaido alot of time like me and still go for seafood then are lame.

Lame of No diffrent from others. Must go something unique such as deer meat. Nvm, you guys wont go Hokkaido so much until my level yet...... hehehe.
1st time to Japan?
Just focus on Kansai. Forget about Tokyo.
11D at Kansai just nice.
deodorant
Sapporo got one not bad soup curry. Near to Mt Moiwa Cable car station. One day i will post as tips of months.

*
both place is suitable for solo
although i personally prefer tokyo
i will gv u direct answer, osaka

osaka for my point of view is more toward cultural, bcoz of kyoto
then they also hv universal studio (fyi disney in tokyo)
kobe and nara is also easy accessible for most traveler

First time going to Japan, just need some info on subway ticket
reach Narita Japan on 22nd late evening, coming back 26 early morning -  22 to 24 staying in Tokyo n 25th night at airport hotel.

If I buy combi (3 day pass + round trip train Narita-Tokyo) ticket can I set the metro 3 day pass to start on 23rd till 25th ,  22nd only for train to Tokyo ( my hotel near main train station ) or what is the best way to do this ?  don't  think I will go out on 22nd night.
Thanks

QUOTE(AeronBabe @ Feb 28 2016, 01:11 AM)
Just wanna share my experience in Jan that day.

Went to skii resort at Yuzawa prince hotel. Upon arrival, me n my (5) friends walked to the lobby, then was admiring the paintings on da wall, while my friend checked us in. Then my gf saw under my shoe got some paper, when i lifted, it was a stack of japanese yen. 10,000 yen x7 pcs. I asked all my friends whether they dropped their money, none said
yes. Completely didnt do any thinking, we directly go to receptionist n return the 70k yen. after we go in our room, think think. feel abit regret or not. No regret not human doh.gif

Next day we checked to see anyone claimed the money, they say a bus driver came to claim it last night shortly after we returned it.

5 days after that we went to Fuji Q highlands, my gf lost her iphone6s in the park. (we actually didnt knew it was left in the park, because we went alot places after that only realize
her phone missing). After searching all the places, only go back to the themepark, as it was our first destination at Fuji. Luckily the information center said they found it. We still had to verify that is her phone.
I guess i now believe in karma  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

*edit: next morning, my friend found 12k yen in his rented trouser pocket when we went to rent gears for skiing for the day. this time he belanja us makan lunch with it, hotel food expensive  cry.gif

i assume many of the forumers in this thread had actually flown to japan, hence i was asking around for tips...

if i can google, sigh, i am not complaining guys, then why would i need to ask here?

so what i can actually ask here?

am not here to create trouble for anyone, everybody has their own first times. do i need to beg?

i know i am kinda desperate for some guidance here and lowyat is abundant of friendly and helpful people, hence i asked here

and

japan is full of so many things that interest me, feels like thousands of info and places i want to go to

alright then, i will try to read earlier threads, then ask respectable questions

no offence intended to anyone, please have a nice day  notworthy.gif

At a glance, would say Shinjuku to Hakone first, cause can go by Odakyu Odawara Line.

To me though, IMHO staying 1 night each at Hakone and Kawaguchiko is quite redundant.
*
3days 2nite is ok la
i spent 1 nite in hakone, i felt really not enuf time 🙅
after tat i spent a nite @kawaguchiko, my timing jus nice juz bcoz i unable to buy bus ticket to 5th station haha

Thanks for the top tip.

Would a 18-55mm on aps-c suffice or I need more zoom?

I'm going mid-April.
*
QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 18 2016, 03:13 PM)
Lake Kawaguchiko already so closed to Mt Fuji.
18-55mm on aps-c already suffice but if want bring more zoom as backup also can.
Always have backup plan then no regret.
*
Mt Fuji u need wide lens, not zoom lens
u can check on flicker wat ppl normally use
last time for convenient, i opt for single lens trip... 18-200

end of jan still winter very limited choice
and other than kobe kyoto nara, any recommendations?

I'm travelling solo to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto for 10 days in April. Should I bring a tripod? I want to take photos of the sakura and I don't like selfie sticks. Also, I'm going to carry my Sony NEX C3 with the kit lens. The tripod weighs about 500g and it is the length of a forearm when compacted. Is it worth it? Or should I just ask people to take photos for me?
*
how many photo u take normally... pre trip?
<1000?? forget bout it

u planned to share photo at professional level?
facebook? forget bout it

most of the ppl dont take photo of themself,
i use handphone if i wan selfie

u buy mirrorless bcoz it is lightweight, tripod is not light
alternative u can use the mini flexible type tripod, invest in bluetooth shutter or learn to use timer
