Asking on behalf of a friend. Is there such thing that we can order JR Pass online, print the order form and exchange it for the actual JR Pass at JR office?
*
No.
Order Online. You still have to collect the real Exchange Order.
Any Photocopy of Exchange order are not accept. Because Exchange Order have a Official Cop on it.

I noticed there's another variance for this daily pass (limited for subway) offered at http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/ticket/value/travel/

Where this one could be only bought at limited places by tourist  hmm.gif
*
2 Way to getting it.

First Way:
This Version of Subway 1 / 2 / 3 day Passes only can get at Haneda or Narita Airport.
Required Passport.
If you using AirAsiaX then no way you can get this ticket because arrived at Midnight.

2nd Way:
Buy at BicCamera // LOAX at Shinjuku
Required Passport

You buy at 23:30 by the time 00:00 already invalid.
You just spent 800 Yen for Nothing.
Nearest subway station from Haneda Airport was Shinagawa Station. By the time you reach there already 00:00

*
0 - 10 Celcius. It will snow at night if reach 0 Celsius. Next morning before 8am will be melt.
Very thin layer of snow. If unlucky then Snow Storm. Tokyo 2015 Feb just hit by Blizzard Storm causing major chaos on transport and traffic. 1 old man dead on slip.

AirasiaX 1.1k to haneda (return)

ANA      1.3k to narita (return)

Next year October...which is better off?
*
QUOTE(cloudwan0 @ Dec 23 2015, 08:46 AM)
sure haneda, nearest + cheaper.
*
QUOTE(Samurai @ Dec 23 2015, 08:49 AM)
Based on this comparison,i would choose Airasia..

1..Haneda...are closed to Tokyo.
2. You save RM200
*
Haneda timing Suck. Plus RM200 more can sit on ANA B787.
Premium Airline with premium food + 25Kg Luggage free. plus arriving on morning // noon.
Noting beat ANA to Japan. RM1300 best deal!!

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Dec 23 2015, 08:57 AM)
if it was me..i would ask the timing first
if the haneda is a morning flight and arrive noon...i'd take the ANA no question ask
if both same time night flight...AAX for sure
*
Narita Airport got Policy of Noisy Pollution. Even was late flight also must be landing before 10pm.
Japan law on Narita Airport and all inland airport . Airport have to shut down all flying operation after 10pm.

Even ANA arrievd at night also before 10pm. Still plenty of time taking Bus / Train to Tokyo City.
No Pressure at all.

QUOTE(Metamorphmagus @ Dec 23 2015, 09:52 PM)
My questions are:

1. Any tips on staying overnight at Kansai Airport relatively comfrtably? I know it's not gonna be easy..but we are on a budget as well. I heard there is a nice armless chairs at the 2nd floor..just wanna know other people's experience here.
2. Will the Kansai Thru pass pay off? I was thinking of Jr West pass or Kansai Thru pass...because the house I will be staying is very near Emmachi station (which is a Jr station as well as a bus station). But then JR line is not really useful in exploring Kyoto perse and I'm planning to spend most nights exploring tokyo. (night will be early I notice)
3. Anyone has been to Hieizan? I'm planning to go there via Sakamoto cable car as it will make the kansai thrupass worth it. However I don't really understand the route there shown by hyperdia. It says there 2 transfers but there were like 5 trains change?
4. Anyone has been to biwako valley? Initially planned to go there instead of Hieizan but cable car too pricey plus not planning to ski. But I was eyeing the kids park and thought wanna know other people's opinion.
5. Anyone used Kansai Thru pass to go to Kobe/ Himeji? Is it really troublesome?
6. Anything that I miss around Kansai region?

*
1. Want comfortable sure need to spent money. There is a cheaper lounge at Kansai Airport Aeroplaza 2F
It Called "Relaxation Square" - 260 Yen per 30 minute // Per pax. if don't want to spend then sleep on floor only and don't thinking to find those comfortable armless chair because it won't be your turn.

2. Overall still Kansai Thru Pass. If station near your hotel are JR line then just used the Icoca Card.

3. Yes. Been Once. Have to Used JR Line. Because Sakamoto Cable only one operation at Winter. At JR Kyoto Station take JR Kosei Line to JR Hieizan-Sakamoto Station. Then walk 20 minute to Sakamoto Cable Station.

4. Yes. Been Once

5. Kansai Thru Pass are most perfect Pass to Kobe. Nothing beat it. Himeji slower and more Interchange than JR. Have to used Sanyo Electrical Railway at Itayado Station all the way to last station Sanyo Himeji Station.
(At Sannomiya Station take Kobe Subway Seishin-Yamate Line (Green) to Itayado Station)

6. Depend on you how much effort on homework.

I read from the backpacker (Chinese) forum that they are launching a new card/pass which combined private railway and JR in December this year, you may Google more information on this new pass?
*
No idea on this. All I know was Current JR + Some private rail Pass are ''Tokyo Wide Pass''.
JR West + Private rail....really no idea and never heard it before.

Thinking about making a half day trip to Nishinomiya which is in between Osaka and Kobe instead of Arashiyama. Looks like a good spot for cherry blossom too. Anyone ever been here?

Never been before But I do study on it. Because it almost similar to my usual Cherry Blossom spot at Kakunodate.
So end up I didn't go there.

Anyone still recall the restaurant at arashiyama kyoto recommended by RC previously? the one facing the river. Unable to find it under tips of the month. is it arashiyama yoshimura?
*
The food that really capture me at Arashiyama are 嵐山いこい
Location please refer to map. Just beside the Hotel 旅亭 嵐月
During lunch time you can buy thier Bento set Or have a Oden (関東煮) set. Oden are this shop primary selling point. Best part of this restaurant are the river view.

Hi, first time going to japan for 7 nights, plan is Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka arriving in Tokyo first.
What would be an ideal journey plan for traveling these cities?

Is the JRpass enough for transport? Or do I need to buy extra to travel within the cities?
Thanks.
*
First time to Japan just focus at Tokyo.
Forget about Kyoto and Osaka.
Tokyo , Kyoto , Osaka are JR Pass killer. JR pass are useless in this 3 city. The only useful time was traveling Bewteen City.
