Hi, I have been following this thread for almost over a year and glad to say that it is very informative and it does help a lot in planning a trip to Japan.

One question: We'll be arriving at Kansai around 19:40 and we plan to board the 20:46 Haruka Express to Kyoto.  I know it depends on a lot of factors but it there enough time for us to board the train? We need to go through the immigration, collect our baggage, buy the Haruka & ICOCA tickets before boarding.

Please share your experience in Kansai Airport.

Guys I'm traveling early February to Osaka / Kyoto.. I know that it is not snowing.. but it is still winter right? Should be pretty cold too. Do I need winter clothing or normal jacket will do?

I have a question about connecting flights between narita-haneda-KIX. If it's out of topic, please do let me know.

I was checking the flights from ANA from KL to KIX and i noticed that there's no direct flight and it required me to fly from KL to Narita, then arrange a transport myself to Haneda and then from Haneda to fly to KIX. The time given between landing in Narita to departure from Haneda is about 4.5 hours. Have anyone tried this? Do you think it's enough time to travel between the airport and go through all the security check and queues?

I checked the transport between Narita and Haneda and seems like the airport limo is the fastest with about 85 mins to 100 mins. There's a different option from ANA which gives me an extra 20 minutes to almost 5 hours window time. Will it be sufficient? Thanks. Sorry if it's a bit out of topic.

My original plan was to have AA fly me to KIX and then fly back from Narita. But the price difference between AA and ANA is only 200... and that's even during promo period..

going to osaka next month. As I have kids, planning to go universal studio and fish aquarium. Thinking of getting the Osaka Amazing Pass 2016.

Do you think I should go Kyoto too? As I read seems like Kyoto only have temples to visit which is not suitable for me as my kids do not like "old people place".....

i read some blog that say not to plan for USJ and Kaiyukan on the same day because it will be too rush. When I am on holiday I do not like to rush. Cause holiday is for relaxing...not for chasing after time.

Hi guys,I'm traveling from Kansai Airport (KIX) to Komatsu on the 26th June 2016. Hyperdia and JR-West website are giving me different routes
1) KIX->Kyoto->Komatsu (from JR-West)
2) KIX->Shin-Osaka->Komatsu (from Hyperdia)
both of the links doesn't show routes offered by the other link, which is the correct one ya?
don't want to get lost for too long as I only planned 2 hours buffer time after arriving at KIX (8:25am)

So from what I gather that I have to take a bus to Niigata to reach Tokyo,right? Do they sell one way ticket or pass just like JR?

Second question is the All Nikko pass, the website says that it covers "Works as a round trip ticket between the station you depart and Shimoimaichi Station.
Works as a train pass for the free section of Tobu Railway (Shimoimaichi - Tobu Nikko / Shinfujiwara Station)
Works as a bus pass between Tobu Nikko Station and Yumoto Onsen / Kotoku Onsen / Kirifuri Kogen Highland (Nikko Kirifuri Ice Arena) Bus Stop, and for the free section of the World Heritage Sightseeing Bus".
But when i checked the bus routes, it showed the World Heritage Sight Seeing bus as greyed out (Together with Akechidaira ropeway), which is the free section of this bus  covered by the pass? because akechidaira ropeway wasn't included. I tried searching for information about the world heritage bus and its route and nothing useful was found.

would it be too ambitious to plan to travel around on bicycle in japan? am planning to rent a bicycle during the trip, and just cycle around wherever i want to go.

the World Heritage Bus is covered under the ALL NIKKO PASS, but NOT the ropeway and shrine entrances. The shrine and temples fees were last time included in the pass, but after some discussions with the temples, they were cancelled.

How to go Yonaguni from Okinawa? Or I should transit in Ishigaki and take a boat from there? Wonder any airline fly straight to Yonaguni from KIX or Okinawa!?

im travelling around mid december BTW
1. are parks around tokyo like yoyogi park or shinjuku gyoen park worth visiting during at that period?
2. since most of us will arrive late at night, is it better to go to oedo onsen monogatari to rest and enjoy onsen thn explore odaiba at the morning before proceed to airbnb
or just book a day extra for airbnb and proceed straight to airbnb?
