alive seemed pretty typical shonen. youth get special power, then fight against others with special powers to protect others. and each special power is unique.  yawn.gif

kiseijuu is nice. and has very little in common with alive other than the alien invasion angle. basilisk is so-so. like action movies, all fight, not much substance. dont really like the mangaka's style also.

What I like about Alive The Final Evolution is the character developments, interactions between the characters, and how each of them struggles to walk out of his/her tragic pasts, and the burdens they are carrying is something impactful to see. Their back stories hit me hard and I feel attached to them. And the artwork is really good, getting better and better from first few chapters to the recent ones.

But it does seem to be a typical shounen manga judging from it's plot.

I know this question has been asked millions of times, but I still want to ask anyway. =) Suggest me something similar to Death Note, Liar Game. I don't want something published before 2000. Thanks in advance.

So you want psychology/suspense type of manga.
I would recommend Mirai Nikki, Bloody Monday and Code Breaker. I haven't read any of them due to time restriction but all of them have very good reception and popular.

Anyone here read 'Deadman Wonderland'?

Been following it, and IMO it's one of the best manga I've come across this year. Dark story, intense fight scene (expect lots of blood).

Just want to find out, is there any good shops to recommend for buying manga in PJ area?

Watching the anime version but might read it if it goes well, since I'm a fan of dark story. And you might want to read Claymore. It has a dark story and very intense and gory fight scenes too, to the point that it can get you sitting on the edge of your seat. Not to say, it has the most beautiful artwork I have seen. Highly recommended for everyone.

You wanna buy licensed original manga? If so, I think Kinokuniya is the only place selling them.

Hey, anyone can recommend some me Manga ?
My local manga rent shop doesn't have lots of shoujo manga, so I wonder anyone here can recommend some shounen romance for me ? xD

Here are my specs:

1. High School + Comedy + Romance (wouldn't mind if there's Harem)
OR
2. High School + Comedy + good storyline + engaging story

(The last time I remembered I truly being engaged in reading a manga is like, uhm, 4 years ago ? And sadly, I have been reading too much boring manga lately...)

Stuff that fits the above criteria that I enjoyed very much is Love Hina.

Similar stuff that I enjoyed
1. Ichigo 100%
2. Suzuka

And also, anyone knows any manga that has mystery and case solving elements ? Like Kindaichi, Detective School Q, Psychodetective Eiji ? (Nope, don't want Conan xD)

P.S. : If possible, can type the manga name in Chinese ? Cause the rent store's manga are all in Chinese...

Thank you very much ! ^.^

You mean shoujo romance?
If so, Skip Beat (下一站巨星). It suits all your criteria and it's the best romance series for me. Another one that comes close is Ouran High School Host Club (樱兰高校男公关部).
As for the detective/case-solving genre, how could you miss out the famous Death Note(死亡笔记)?!
