This is so far the best China phone that I have used. There are alot of hints of iphone on the mate8 .

Oppo, xiaomi, vivo all tak boleh pakai.

Mate8 feels like I am using an iPhone . the rest of the China brands all feels like I am using China phone.

Oppo is one of the worst when it comes to updates, my uncle's R7 Lite has stopped receiving updates after few months, still stuck on Android 5.1 and Color OS 2.1. Therefore, after receiving few of those updates, the camera has gotten worse, lots of noise in the picture. Plus, Oppo's Color OS was already a mess, and they took another step backwards by making it look more like iOS in the new Color OS 3.0 which is featured on the R9 series. I've lost my interest on Oppo phones since then, they already showed that they can innovate (just take a look at their VOOC fast charging for example), but they still wanna copy Apple to an extent, making themselves look like a typical cheap China brand with no identity. No respect for Oppo.

Huawei's update cycle might be slow, but at least they will update their phones. They might have took some design cues from iOS with their EMUI as well, but at least they combined their own design language into it. Also, their phone design are top notch, they won't go far by making an iPhone clone like Oppo and other China brands. That's why when it comes to China brands, I would only think of Huawei.

Personally, I don't really like the design on the R9, I didn't like the iPhone 6s design anyways. Plus, that UI (Color OS 3.0) is a joke.

And yeah, the fingerprint scanner is dope. That's the only cool thing on the R9.

Btw, the R9 will be called F1 Plus here, in case u didn't know.

My place best reception is always Celcom w stronger LTE about 20-70Mbps. Maxis LTE is weak n rarely I can get it
Both Digi n U Mobile even 3g is hopeless
Celcom is good enough for me even in Spore, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, UK, France etc

You will not get any fast charging from the Oppo charger. Their fast charging ONLY works on Oppo phones whose battery is 6 pin vs 4 pins of other smartphone batteries
No, it will not spoil your phone. You will just get normal slow charging

After playing for 2 days. I found there is more pro than con if compare with Mate 7

Display: stunning and more bright
Camera: decent quality picture taken. but I found got pro mode.
Performance: didn't install any heavy graphic games yet.
Sound: definitely sound better than mate 7. I might thinking they adding bass on speaker. While best thing is using earphone, it have DTS mode for better quality listening music/song
Battery: I guess equal or same battery life with Mate 7 currently. I think my mate8 got bug when cell standby keep draining phone.
GPS: still same as mate 7 which very quick pointing direction
Fingerprint: I sure u cannot find any android device can unlock very fast within a second

Didn't read much info about oppo r9. I think quite similar with mate 8 in term size and battery life just only processor quite downgrade (Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 vs HiSilicon Kirin 950) and OS still old (Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop) vs Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow)

If let me choose I rather choose Huawei.
