QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 12 2016, 05:07 PM) Mate S is already rm2.6k. So I guess around rm2.8-3.0k ?? With ringgit continually depreciating pricing could get worse. I got mine for rm2.9k but funny thing, in vmall china, Mate 8 is retailed cheaper than Mate S. weird.http://www.vmall.com/ since, my friend is in guangzhou now, i am contemplating if i should wait or not, coz if based on huawei online site, Mate 8 is suppose to be cheaper than Mate S. hmmmmm. and RMB3699 is about RM2.5k+ only. yes, Mate 8 4gb/64gb is retailed at RMB3699. my fren ask street price is around RMB3600. so its about RM2.5k direct conversion. Mate S is retailed RM2698 here and its retailed at RMB4199 in china and direct conversion is around RM2.7k+.

QUOTE(monocle @ Jan 12 2016, 06:04 PM) Dont think it will be placed under mate S's rrp.. unless when mate 8 launch, they reduce the mate s rrp to 2k.. which is very unlikely.. it is priced lower than Mate S in china. take a look.http://www.vmall.com/ |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Jan 12 2016, 08:30 PM) There are 4 different version of China set for Mate 8. So NXT-AL10 supports all bands in malaysia and worldwide right?網通版 (4G)=AL10、移動版=TL00、聯通版 (WCCDMA) =DL00、電信版=CL00 The one you should buy is the version 網通版 (4G)=AL10. You can also go for 聯通版 (WCCDMA) =DL00, however, it only have 3G. As for the international set, there are 2 version. Details was attached below. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 14 2016, 10:58 AM) Mate 8 is only phone that has widest support of all major bands in the world Yea. Will ask fren to get the NXT-AL10 since it has the widest bands coverage including our fdd-lte band 3 and 7. But based on your experience, huawei china unit has more frequent firmware update than international unit right?Msian bands are common n so no worry You can check their LTE band support n Msian bands are listed I had no idea what model i am getting as not specified. I will only be recieving the phone next week As valuebasket is Spore site i am sure they will bring in only compatible set. I can always return n get a refund if it is incompatible They give a 2 year warranty coverage too But goodluck lah, since i had bad experience with valuebasket in buying my smartwatch previously. QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 14 2016, 11:08 AM) Yes BUT I will change it to Euro firmware as it has less bloatware vs China. M'sian units is always the worst - this is based on my experience using Mate 6.1, X1, Mate7. While China and Euro has up to 5-6 firmware updates, M'sian versions usually the most stay at one update. I always change my Msian sets to Euro firmware Lol. Bloatware is easy to remove after root device. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 14 2016, 11:16 AM) What was your bad experience with valuebasket ? I waited for the item like for 3 weeks after delay after delay thru emails. 1st they said item is delayed due to shipping and a few other excuses. At the end only tell me no stock and offer me refund. LolMy previous purchase from them for the LG V10 was good. All email replied by next day. Only delivery was delayed but they do keep me updated Mate8 presentation at CES 2016. HW should get a proper well speaking English presenter instead of him |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 27 2016, 08:42 AM) Those who like SuperAmoled of Samsung will not like the LCD type display i somehow have to agree with you after playing with my Mate 8 for a few days. its awesome on the lcd, one of the best lcd in the market if not the ultimate screen. still trying to get use to the phone coming from Samsungs. lol. It boils down to one taste I had used all the Samsung Galaxy series till S6E and Note series till Note 5 : Sadly but truly I had never like Samsung Amoleds as I still find their colors as too bright, fake and over saturated |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Feb 1 2016, 01:07 PM) This valuebasket site kept delaying the delivery. My previous purchase of the V10 the delay was more than 2 weeks. Today i emailed them if they failed to sent this week i will just cancel the order. told u uncle benny, i had the same problem with them once and never go back. Dont really understand how they managed their delivery system. Read on the web it is the biggest complain about them. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Feb 3 2016, 06:27 PM) There are already few owners here but most are very quiet ! I do hope to read some comments from them too not good in doing review like you do mah, uncle benny. lol.anyway, had the phone for like 2-3weeks. been busy during this time because my wife just delivered her 1st baby. however, the mate8 phone build is as great as other Huawei flagships. it is snappy without lag. i had some minor issue with whatsapp though, broken whatsapp notification on older firmware, but i had OTA update to B156 firmware and all are fixed. quite a lot built in customisation even without root. i like the part how u can manage your apps wakelock during off screen time to save your battery consumption, or is this a new feature in mashmallow? battery life is pretty good for a person who came from Note4. Camera wise, its pretty sharp, although i do notice the AF speed is a bit behind Note4, but can be accepted by me since i have my mirrorless and dslr for serious photography tasks. QUOTE(ryukick @ Feb 5 2016, 06:27 PM) Eagerly awaiting your review ..heheh I had whatsapp notification problem on older firmware. it is fixed now with latest B156 on Mate8 My past experience with Huawei phones are notificaitions when they work...work extremelly well..when they don't then ...well then you have the issue where you have to open up the app to get the notifications....hope this will be fixed. I had issues with Line, whatsapp and email...periodically ..not all the time - which frustrates me... If the camera is as good as note 5 , then |
